Virgil's books are always a lot of good old campie fun. If you like his other works you'll like this one. However if this your first of his books and you like it try his other books out.

Still going strong, but...

Love this series but seven books is a long time for the main character not to make any progress with the female lead. This author has been teasing this for seven books and can't even write a single dinner scene without deciding to derail that. Side characters sure no problem give them relationships. MC nah we can't have him make any headway with a girl he knows is obviously into him. I don't mind slow burn, but this is smoke coming off the wood without an ember. Considering the amount of time they spend together in this book it's pretty frustrating.

Not unreadable, but think this is the end for me.

You know when I picked up book one and thought there was only going to be six bonds. I thought that was a good thing. I thought relatively moderate sized harem means that we'd get plenty of character development for the girls. Sadly I was wrong and now we've just hit the waifu collector phase. The fact that we're just adding girls and not developing the story or the characters is why I'm dropping.

Best sci-fi cultivation hybrid I've come across.

The characters are good, if a little generic for progression series. Where the story shines is its excellent world building. Not only is a conceptually interesting the societal ramifications are well thought out.

honestly my only complaint is that the skills are read like they're in all caps every time, even if it breaks how the sentence should flow. This isn't even that big of a problem since no one has an absurd amount of skills. Minor spoiler the MC only has three by the end of the book and this is pretty typical of people his tear.

Honestly the writing is excellent and I'd highly recommend to fans of the genre.

author forgets the main characters backstory

The author forgets elements of the main character's backstory with his stepfather. basically he's acting like the LIE the main character told about his backstory in book 1 is the actual backstory. You know instead of when he revealed the truth of it in book 2. It's not even like he's lying to someone about it it's a thought in his own head! Then forgets that he gave him a five forms for his arm at the end of the last book and just acts like he just now got them several chapters into this one. The amount of times he has forgotten things he's established in the last book is crazy. This is just the book where it became too much for me.

After book 1 this really feels like half a book.

I think the writing overall is pretty good. there isn't anything in particular I think is actually all together that bad. The real problem comes in the fact that this book is half the length of the first. Now I'm not saying the book needed to be twice its length to be good. The real issue is that the story is structured and paste the same as the first book. This leaves the book feeling like all build up with almost no payoff.

muffling in the audio around chapter 3 and 41.

I like the story after all I'm on book 4 in the series. there is a slight issue with the audio starting around chapter 3 where randomly the narrator becomes muffled. This happens multiple times in later chapters to. also a few times lines are literally repeated. Hopefully somebody can go back and fix this up. I paid good money for this.

Book should be called easily avoidable fuck ups

If you want to read a book about adults causing stupid fuck ups, all because they want to lie to children this is the book for you. It would be one thing if you were small backups, but no there plot inducing fuck ups. As in the plot wouldn't happen the way it does without these obviously retarded decisions.
