Historia
Brené Brown has spent the past two decades studying the emotions and experiences that give meaning to our lives, and the past seven years working with transformative leaders and teams spanning the globe. She found that leaders in organizations ranging from small entrepreneurial startups and family-owned businesses to nonprofits, civic organizations, and Fortune 50 companies all ask the same question: How do you cultivate braver, more daring leaders, and how do you embed the value of courage in your culture? This audiobook answers this question.

Love Brene Brown!
Revisado: 04-25-23
Brene had so many good concepts in this book. This is good for any leader to help improve communication skills, work on oneself to discover any hidden blind spots. And to just keep in perspective what makes a person whole hearted and face their adversity with courage. Not to live or respond out of shame but out of a place of courage and love. Greta book!

Historia
Three out of four people addicted to heroin probably started on a prescription opioid, according to the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In the United States alone, 16,000 people die each year as a result of prescription opioid overdose. But perhaps the most frightening aspect of the prescription drug epidemic is that it's built on well-meaning doctors treating patients with real problems.

Much needed book to explain the underlying cause of opioid epidemic
Revisado: 12-31-22
I’ve read Dr Lembke’s book Dopamine Nation as well. It’s his book better explains the underlying causes of the ongoing opioid epidemic and what healthcare providers can do not to perpetuate the cycle. It helps to also know what an individual who suffers with addiction goes through and raises awareness of how we can help.

Historia
When Craig Cooper and Walker Hayes met, Walker was an alcoholic atheist reeling from the backlash of a failed music career. Through their unlikely friendship, Craig’s life demonstrated the love of Christ in a way that shattered Walker’s misconceptions of Christianity, ultimately leading him down the path to a dramatic conversion. The two are now close as brothers, choosing to be next-door neighbors, and ripped out the fence between their homes as a testament to the power of the gospel to break down barriers and unite people together in Christ.

Amazing Book!
Revisado: 07-16-22
I read this book in a day! I love the story of Walker and Craig how they are blended together. How God orchestrated their friendship and all the details of their lives. I love how Craig and Walker are allowing God to use them as a vessel to bring glory to him and bring people. Loser to Jesus. I can relate to so many things in both their stories. I’ve also lost a child and wasn’t able to have anymore. I’m so sorry for your loss. I am continually amazed how God uses everything and is so good. What the enemy uses for evil God will use for good 😊. Thank you for writing this book!

Only after weeks of training does she learn her assignment: she will be one of several young women tasting the Führer's food, offering herself in sacrifice to keep him from being poisoned.

The narrator does an amazing job with the accents of the characters in the book. I felt like I was there in the story. Was hard to stop listening to it. I also LOVE Historical fiction. Who knows this could have been the way Hitler dies?!?!

Historia
While human lives are endlessly variable, our most memorable positive moments are dominated by four elements: elevation, insight, pride, and connection. If we embrace these elements, we can conjure more moments that matter. What if a teacher could design a lesson that he knew his students would remember 20 years later? What if a manager knew how to create an experience that would delight customers? What if you had a better sense of how to create memories that matter for your children?

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

I am very glad I read this book. There are so many messages I need to process and didn’t realize but am glad I have a better understanding of how I contribute to the narrative and can be more aware. I challenge every white person to read white fragility, and learn from a place of humility and keep educating oneself of where we can do better.

Historia
Daniel Hill will never forget the day he heard these words: "Daniel, you may be white, but don't let that lull you into thinking you have no culture. White culture is very real. In fact, when white culture comes in contact with other cultures, it almost always wins. So it would be a really good idea for you to learn about your culture." Confused and unsettled by this encounter, Hill began a journey of understanding his own white identity. Today he is an active participant in addressing and confronting racial and systemic injustices.

So glad I read this book!
Revisado: 01-30-21
White awake will help white culture look into themselves of what it means to be white. How the view of whiteness skews the lens of Gods diverse kingdom. Until we’re able to look within ourselves and understand the meaning of white privilege, white fragility and supremacy we will never be able to see, hear, and know others, other then the context of a white lens. Now that I see I can’t unsee it. I’m so grateful I read this book and will continue educating myself and learning how to unwrite the narratives of our past to allow God to write his beautiful narrative of his kingdom.
