Historia
In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

understanding
Revisado: 04-02-19
I don't think it was a problem with the book, but with my understanding. This book was deep and dense. A book I read referenced these four levels and I was intrigued and wanted to learn more. Listening to this didn't clear it up for me or help me to come to a greater understanding. I am still interested to understand these four levels of love, but I think I'll have to read someone's summary and interpretation to grasp it.

Historia
How do our thoughts and emotions affect our health? Are our bodies and minds distinct from one another, or do they function together as parts of an interconnected system? Neuroscientist Candace Pert provides startling and decisive answers to these and other challenging questions that scientists and philosophers have pondered for centuries. She explains the scientific basis of popular wisdom and phenomena like "gut feelings" and makes comprehensible recent discoveries in cancer and AIDS research.

not complete
Revisado: 03-25-19
I read "Molecules of Emotion" about 10 years ago and it was life changing. I loved it. I didn't realize this version was abridged and was sorely disappointed. It focused much more on defending her work as a scientist rather than the inspiring, example filled applications the full book contains. Her defense is an important part of the complete text, but that without the application was very dry.

Tuttle's system is resoundingly different than any of the fashion/beauty makeovers you've seen in magazines or on TV - instead of just focusing on your outward appearance, it helps awaken your inner truth, bringing a deeper understanding of your true personal style.

Historia
In The Child Whisperer, best-selling author Carol Tuttle explains that children tell their parents every day exactly how they need to be parented. They tell their teachers exactly how they need to be taught. Children are trying to tell adults who they are so they can be recognized and treated in a way that honors them uniquely. The Child Whisperer reveals that the key to raising happy, healthy, cooperative children lies in understanding and responding to a child's inner nature.

Loved it!
Revisado: 05-19-18
I love this concept of energy profiling. I learned so much about myself and my children as I read. This book is one I will listen to again, recommend, and buy a hard copy of to take notes in and use as a reference.
I have already seen great improvements in myself and my relationships with my children as I've implemented what I now understand. With this understanding of who they are I can help them in a way they need.
I can't stand the term whisperer in any context though and cringed a bit the 1000+ times she used it, but I understand why she used it. If this bothers you too know that the content is well worth it!

well written, tragic events
Revisado: 04-28-18
Tragic events that I didn't even know occurred. It was wonderfuly written but hard to listen to because of the nature of the subject. It was an eye opening reminder of hard things people have faced and continue to face in various ways today.

good book
Revisado: 04-10-18
Great information, but nothing new. I think if I had read it ten years ago I would think differently, but there is so much information on the subject today. It was an interesting mix of medical terms that we're over my head and information that was too basic. I love the message though- exercise and movement is critical happiness and to get the most out of all aspects of life.

Historia
Can you describe how the flavor of halibut differs from red snapper? How Brie differs from cheddar? For most of us, unfortunately, the answer is: badly. Flavor remains a vague, undeveloped concept we don't know enough about to describe - or to appreciate - fully. In Flavor, Bob Holmes shows us just how much we're missing. He tackles questions like why cake tastes sweetest on white plates, how wine experts' eyes fool their noses, and how language affects flavor.

interesting, but...
Revisado: 03-23-18
I'm glad I listened to this book. There were some very interesting things that I liked and will remember, but too much was redundant and not applicable. The author went into too much detail about flavor chemical compounds and repeated the same concepts. That would be great as a text book, if I was studying flavor, but not very interesting to listen to.
