This book is mis titled and not what I expected... and yes Audible.... I Want My Money Back. Books like Blast Off tell the reader how to start a rocket company... here, I really wanted to learn how to build a huge war ship. But no, they talked about crazy details that had nothing to do about anything. I gave up after 4 chapter. I do not need to know about welders taking the 5:15 to work, and the sound the train made on the way to yards... A total waste of time and focus... I want 1_ credit's back pls.

Greatest True Story Ever Told

This is a perfect audio book. The adventure & survival story is amazing and the voice actor's telling is thrilling and engrossing. If you like adventure, courage and impossible odds to survive, ( and who doesn't )... you'll love this book as much as I did. Go for the journey of a lifetime.

I was a fan of the triple movie set, and listened to the 2 new books. I now went back to enjoy listening to book 1. The narrator Simon Vance is a "voice actor" offering a wonderful performance. Of course, the story is great.... but more importantly, the 16+ hour reading is a fantastic ride, told with a verity of voices, that brings you totally into the story. I'm a 100+ Audible purchaser.... this is one of the very top read / performed books.

Sorry, it's a great topic, and Mr. Doerr's got a great message.... but he's not the verbal messenger. Pls buy the book and enjoy reading it, I cannot listen to him talk as he's a great storyteller, put only on paper, and not a qualified narrator. He cannot talk / read with any continuity or inclination.... it's a monotone semy stutterer listen. Sorry... buy the book.

This is my first time with the author, I’m now a fan for life. The overall story is strong, the sub-plots are wonderful and the characters are even better. I love his words choices, and all the maid of language. This is one of the longest listens in my hundred plus book Audible account, with the multi actor performances, this is one of the top books I’ve listened to. I highly recommend it, go for the ride.

Great book, a perfect combination of technical and emotional. Beyond capturing the feeling of the times, you really felt like you going for the full ride, and being the first to leave the planet and circle the moon. Well written and well read. Perfect Audible book.
