Historia
Idealistic Navy Lieutenant Jacob Grimm just wanted to honor his mother’s sacrifice in the last great war. When he’s forced to return fire and destroy a squadron of ships to save his own, he thinks he’s the hero...until they discover the ships are full of children. Disgraced and denied promotion, Jacob’s career is over. That is until the head of ONI needs a disposable officer to command a battered destroyer on the rim.

A very enjoyable story with excellent narration and without all the woke nonsense. Thank you, Mr. Haskell.

Historia
The Remains of the Day is a profoundly compelling portrait of the perfect English butler and of his fading, insular world in postwar England. At the end of his three decades of service at Darlington Hall, Stevens embarks on a country drive, during which he looks back over his career to reassure himself that he has served humanity by serving "a great gentleman". But lurking in his memory are doubts about the true nature of Lord Darlington's "greatness" and graver doubts about his own faith in the man he served.

A wonderful effort at revealing the lives of English servants
Revisado: 12-12-20
Having an appreciation for the development of society through history, it was a wonderful pleasure to listen to this story of how life may have gone on in a great English household during the time when the British aristocracy led the United Kingdom. It also gave a glimpse as to how this life style faded away as history marched on and left it behind.

Humorous, surprising, and informative, Dr. Peterson tells us why skateboarding boys and girls must be left alone, what terrible fate awaits those who criticize too easily, and why you should always pet a cat when you meet one on the street.

Living Life Well
Revisado: 06-03-19
I found this book helpful in causing me to think deeply and constructively about how to live life well. The person who wishes to skim the material and find the "main" point will not find it very useful. It's more of a thought building on thought journey than a big idea book. I have listened to it twice a few months apart. I plan on listening to it again in another few months.

Historia
Kevin Myers, the founding pastor of 12Stone Church, a congregation of more than 30,000 active attenders near Atlanta, believes the reason we don't experience a transformed life is that we fail to grow up spiritually. We focus on developing physically, intellectually, emotionally, and financially, yet our faith remains immature and anemic. In this powerful new book, Myers offers a deep yet simple roadmap to a grown-up faith through understanding the whole context of the Bible, developing spiritual intimacy with God, and gratefully embracing holy obedience.

Well worth the time to listen to.
Revisado: 02-13-19
I've looked for good foundational material to use in our small group. Bottom line, this is the best I have ever seen. I plan on listening to this book on a regular basis, starting with once a month.

Finally!
Revisado: 01-10-18
I have hunted for a good book, or hopefully a series, that tell a coming of age tale in a setting with swords and honor, friends and foes, with appreciation of good and truth, without unnecessary vulgar bits that interrupt and spoil the telling. This book more than meets what I have been hoping for. It is on par with the first of the book series by Stephen Lawhead, for those familiar with his writing. I hope to see the second book in this series one day.

Fun space adventure
Revisado: 11-06-17
I have enjoyed the first 5 books of the Fallen Empire series. It's a very entertaining space opera. The voice performance is very well done. I knew which character was speaking due to very distinctive voice patterns used by the reader. I'm hopeful that the next in the series will come out soon.
