The entire case from start to finish was written as if you were an observer - so many details were revealed and made the case much more interesting and suspenseful.
A refreshing and enjoyable audio book.

Historia
Gaia is dying. That, at least, is what Dr. Lionel Scott believes. A renowned expert in tropical and infectious diseases, Scott has witnessed the devastating impact of illness and turmoil at critical scale. Society as it exists is untenable, and the direct link to Earth’s death spiral; population levels are out of control and people have allowed disarray and disorder to run rampant. While most are concerned about deadly disease, Scott knows that it is truly humanity itself that will destroy Gaia.

Loved it and I am a raving fan having read all his books, many several times.
The story line was extremely well researched and so the science was spot on. The narration was very good and the story itself was a real page turner.
Can’t wait for the next book!

I trusted the other reviews that recommended this book and was glad I did. All his books are great and this ranks now as one of my favourites. Yes, I am a die hard fan of his legal thrillers - and this was not that. Yet it is as good or better so enjoy!

Historia
The Incredible Hulk was originally supposed to be grey, but a printing glitch led to the superhero’s iconic green colour. NHL hall-of-famer Serge Savard’s hockey career nearly ended prematurely, not because of an injury, but because of an oversight. And the invention of a beloved treat, the Popsicle, began with a simple mistake. In his fascinating and meticulously researched new book, Terry O’Reilly recounts how some of the biggest breakthroughs and best-loved products originated with a mistake.

Heard of the book while watching Tokyo Vice. The show is a very small story in a book filled with honest, personal and very perceptive observations of Japanese life from a foreigners point of view. Exciting and at times amusing.
Narrated by the Author - a huge plus.

Same old format and I am a raving fan
Revisado: 03-28-22
Stone is alone. Meets (about to be divorced) (just divorced) (wants to get a divorce) woman. Her (soon to be ex husband) (ex husband) (still her husband) will never leave her go no matter what. So before you know it Stone and the new woman in his life are in danger from the jealous (fill in the obvious) and so we the reader is off on another adventure with characters we love but with a plot line we’ve read too many times before.
Time for a new Teddy Fay book or two.

Really Liked it BUT
Revisado: 11-17-21
I've read all of the Bosch books. Many more than once. I am a raving fan. Renée Ballard, a relatively new addition to the series is single, female, and is a police detective working the night shift. This is the fourth book where she is a major character. In fact, in this book Harry Bosch is very much in the background. 80% of this book, if not more, is in her voice.
Michael, if you read these reviews, can you stop with the: all female policewomen are victims of harassment 24/7. It's getting tiresome.
You see, Renée Ballard's life at work is a constant struggle due to a complete of lack of recognition from her male colleges. As smart and capable as she is, she just can't seem to rise above it. That's what's tiresome after 4 books. Same old toxic workplace since 2017. Enough already. Yes she stepped up but will she step out?

Historia
Eight-year-old orphan Beth Harmon is quiet, sullen, and by all appearances unremarkable. That is, until she plays her first game of chess. Her senses grow sharper, her thinking clearer, and for the first time in her life she feels herself fully in control. By the age of 16, she's competing for the US Open championship. But as Beth hones her skills on the professional circuit, the stakes get higher, her isolation grows more frightening, and the thought of escape becomes all the more tempting.

Lots of people here are complaining about the narrator. This was not a problem for me at all and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to a story I already almost knew by heart but was thrilled to hear again.

A very enjoyable engaging listening experience.
Revisado: 06-07-21
Teddy Fay is no longer superhero strong and invincible which seems to have surprised some fans. All of Stuart Woods signature characters are approaching their Fifties and more, and I admire the author’s efforts to portray Teddy Fay as a very capable but aging character whose talents requires more effort now that he’s older.
The book was fun, well done and worth listening to. And like all fans I have read every book - many more than once or even twice.

The production was great. The rest not so much. Cartoon characters. Typical plot. Misunderstood hero, badly flawed sidekick and very predictable sub plots. Enjoyed the production however and it would be great if more Audio books did the same.
