The years is 1776, and across the world, a reset is taking place—at the hands of the Elite. Their aim—to remove all traces of the Tartarian Empire! Mud-floods, fire, and earthquakes destroyed a great deal of the empire and the civil and the Napoleonic wars killed off many of its inhabitants. Those that survived were incarcerated within the newly established asylums and prisons, hidden away from those that now lived in the New World. Their children were taken and distributed to every major town and city, not just to be used as slave labour, but to repopulate too!

Karma, down on her luck, will become the first Black consort despite her belief that being an alien whore is only marginally better than serving humans.

Another beautiful performance by the duel narrators -
I really appreciate how this author can write about class and identity issues/ differences faced in this world through her intergalactic story line - without demonizing entire groups of people as unfortunatly I see too often —
I love the hope I feel for humanity and how we are all one family after I read many of this authors books —
I can feel the beautiful loving soul this author has for her fellow man - just in the way she writes her characters —
Anyway — I can’t wait to read the next book

I love the message in this intergalactic romance - how it not only touches on the differences of culture and class but in how it brings those differences together to create a oneness and unity that really can’t be achieved without honoring and respecting each others value and experience.
I also really love the partnership used in the narration - it was artfully executed
Looking forward to the next book in the series

Very interesting science .... too bad he gets political

One hand wants people to be able to live healthy longer — but maybe only people who think like him ??
He shows a badly veiled distain for conservative views and “ the older generation “ — something that has been emerging quite robustly from university as of late — and leads to this new authoritarian bent coming from the left in present days —
Sad though — because the science is fascinating-
I have even recommended the book - with the warning of the not so curled bigotry found within
