Historia
One-time lieutenant of the evil Emperor Jagang, known as “Death’s Mistress” and the “Slave Queen”, the deadly Nicci captured Richard Rahl in order to convince him that the Imperial Order stood for the greater good. But it was Richard who converted Nicci instead, and for years thereafter she served Richard and Kahlan as one of their closest friends—and one of their most lethal defenders. Now, with the reign of Richard and Kahlan finally stabilized, Nicci has set out on her own for new adventures.

Simply terrible inane writing

Nothing wrong with the narration. Not great, but she does her best with some poor source material.
It's bad Mary-Sue fiction. Awful boring supporting characters, little plot, just the MC showing off.

Historia
In a post-apocalyptic future, 15-year-old Vic wanders the wasteland with Blood, his genetically-altered telepathic dog, in the Hugo Award-nominated and Nebula Award-winning novella, A Boy and His Dog - the basis of the cult classic film. An intergalactic conspiracy infects the minds of the most powerful politicians in the Republican Party - and only one jolly old elf can save them in “Santa Claus vs. S.P.I.D.E.R.” And in the Hugo Award-winning title story, disparate threads of violence, conflict, and conversation weave an intricate tapestry across worlds and times.

The formatting for this audio book is very strange

Great writing, good reading, poor formatting.

As always Ellison's writing is excellent. The readers are good as well. But the book's chapter marks are incomplete, and since it's a collection of short stories that makes accessing the last half difficult.
