Historia
Welcome to Urban Monad 116. Reaching nearly two miles into the sky, the 1,000 stories of this building are home to over 800,000 people living in peace and harmony. In the year 2381 with a world population of over 75 billion souls, the massive Urbmon system is humanity’s salvation. Life in Urbmon 116 is highly regulated, life is cherished, and the culture of procreation is seen as the highest pinnacle of god’s plan. Conflict is abhorred, and any who disturb the peace face harsh punishment—even being sent “down the chute” to be recycled as fertilizer.

Expected rich world, got just sex
Revisado: 09-28-18
Seriously, this is a book of various sex scenes. I wanted to read about sophisticated life of future human population, how they overcame challenges of overcrowded world, their interests, culture, families, technologies, ... Those topics were extremely shallow in the book, along with the plot. But wait, who needs this if there is sex everywhere!

Historia
The grid is an accident of history and of culture, in no way intrinsic to how we produce, deliver and consume electrical power. Yet this is the system the United States ended up with, a jerry-built structure now so rickety and near collapse that a strong wind or a hot day can bring it to a grinding halt. The grid is now under threat from a new source: renewable and variable energy, which puts stress on its logics as much as its components.

Too much about everything and thus about nothing
Revisado: 05-28-18
Interesting history of American grig the first half of a book. But the book can be twice as short. When inspirational speech before a battle is 7 hours long, it stops being inspirational. The author tends to structure long sentences by adding long list of adjectives to them. So, a reader forget what a paragraph started with and what’s the point of all those adjectives. Too repetitive narrative and time to time seems leading to nothing. Good insites, but thinly scattered through the book.

Historia
Highlighting the fascinating link between a child’s neurological development and the way a parent reacts to misbehavior, No-Drama Discipline provides an effective, compassionate road map for dealing with tantrums, tensions, and tears - without causing a scene. Defining the true meaning of the “d” word (to instruct, not to shout or reprimand), the authors explain how to reach your child, redirect emotions, and turn a meltdown into an opportunity for growth.

I'd like my parents to discipline me like that when I was a kid!
Revisado: 02-03-18
I've read lots of parenting books and so far encountered only two (including this one) which technics not only work but help to bond with your child. This book focuses on not how to make your child to do what you want, but how to teach your child so they understand why they need to behave that way. And this is one of the biggest parenting goals to make our children independent adults, who knows how to make good choices whether they are with us or not.
Sometimes it's a bit repetitive but this makes you see author message from various sides and remember it.
The second best book about parenting is "How to Talk So Kids Will Listen, and How to Listen So Kids Will Talk" Adele Faber. Another book about respectful parenting. Strongly recommend both books!

Here's the message that stressed-out parents are craving to hear: It's okay to play! In fact, it's more than just okay - it's better than drilling academics. After decades of research, scientists and child development experts have come to a clear conclusion: Play is the best way for children to learn.

More talking about what's bad than what's good for your child
Revisado: 01-08-17
Don't get me wrong, it's a great parenting book and must read for all parents who are nervous about not providing their kids with all skills they need to compete in our fast developing world.
I knew that quality time with your child is more important than strict schedule of various group activities. So, I found myself constantly skipping the parts which persuade me of thinks that I already agree with.
If you're looking for a book with practical advise how to enrich time with your child – don't expect much from this book.
If you're looking for general direction on what to focus along your parenting journey – this is a great reading.
