Historia
Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Solid book, but doesn't top Storm of Swords
Revisado: 12-20-15
What did you love best about A Feast for Crows?
I loved reading Jamie, Cersei and Sam's point of views the most
Any additional comments?
An excellent book but a little more confusing then the previous three. If you struggle, do some googling for guides. It really improved my experience of the story.

Decent abduction story for YAs
Revisado: 08-09-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Girl, Stolen to be better than the print version?
No. I didn't like the voice performer's narration of the story, so I would recommend reading the book instead. She does a credible job voicing Cheyenne, but there are multiple male characters and she was terrible at their characters. I wish the author had gone with dual narration instead.

Historia
Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Kept you guessing all the way to the end
Revisado: 07-29-15
What made the experience of listening to Dark Places the most enjoyable?
The voice actors did a great job of bring the characters to life and giving each a distinct voice. The information section listed many different voice actors but I think one person did the majority of the books.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
It was difficult to tell who did it and I was kept guessing all the way through the book. I kept changing my mind who I thought it was as more facts came out.
Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?
I didn't so much have a personal favourite character as I enjoyed the present day sections of the story better.
Any additional comments?
If you weren't warned by the synopsis, this is not a happy, uplifting book. All the characters are down on their luck and rather negative. Libby has some serious issues and they're all just negative and pessimistic and antagonistic for the most part. Definitely looking for a more upbeat book next for a change of pace.

Best book in the series

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Storm of Swords?
Well, that would be a little but of a spoiler don't you think? Let's just say, the wedding scenes.
Any additional comments?
It was definitely my favourite so far. The pacing was much quicker and more dramatic. From the Red Wedding, to the Purple Wedding, to the deaths of the Hound and Tywin Lannister, the shock factor just kept driving, again and again, boom boom boom. I loved it.

Important and provocative, The Undead examines why even with the tools of advanced technology, what we think of as life and death, consciousness and nonconsciousness, is not exactly clear - and how this problem has been further complicated by the business of organ harvesting.

Interesting topic made very boring
Revisado: 07-18-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
It was difficult to tell where one chapter began and another left off, mostly because of the writing style. Perhaps more chapters that were shorted in length could have helped though.
Would you ever listen to anything by Dick Teresi again?
Probably not. This was such an interesting topic but he made it so boring and tedious. I didn't need a recap of the death beliefs of Ancient Egyptians. I hoped this book would be about the modern "miracles" of Franken-medicine and some of the ethical and moral considerations but that is not what I listened to.

Impressed the author read it herself
Revisado: 07-18-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Still Alice is very well written. I think it is a great resource for anyone dealing with a loved one who has EOAD, particularly for caregivers. Because it is a fictional account, and not a pamphlet or article written by some well-meaning health centre, it captures the emotions involved and really provides insight into the thought patterns of an individual with Alzheimer's, providing clarity and understanding to circumstances that appear utterly baffling from the outside.
Who was the most memorable character of Still Alice and why?
I liked her youngest daughter Lydia, who had the most depth and was very interesting.
Any additional comments?
The author read this book herself, which I believe is incredibly rare in the industry. I have never heard of someone doing this and she did a great job, so kudos to her. I really liked the story.
