NOT BY DASHIELL HAMMETT

I bought this title as it said it was by Dashiell Hammett. I knew it was not one of his major works, but given that he did some work in Hollywood after his novel-writing days, it was possible that he had done some work with it. The characters were not created by him, nor were any of the episodes written by him. I am not certain if this is deliberate deception in order to get users to spend credits on an otherwise competent, but strictly average, radio drama or if this was a genuine error, but if you were recommended this based on an interest in Hammett, make a hard pass as you're bound to be disappointed.

Bouton's OTHER Gem of a Baseball Memoir

Jim Bouton's "Ball Four" is still regarded more than 50 years after its publication as perhaps the greatest sports memoir ever. The events in "Foul Ball" take place more than 30 years later, with Bouton retired in Western Massachusetts. He and a friend spearhead a campaign to save and renovate a historic ballpark, as opposed to building an $18 million new stadium. His intriguing journey takes him through small-city politics, independent league maneuvering, a massive environmental cover-up, and local media's conflicts of interest. Bouton, as usual, pulls no punches in his accounting of events. "Foul Ball," as "Ball Four" did before it, will make you cheer and jeer, laugh and cry, and -- most critically -- THINK.

As someone who has suffered the tragic loss of a child, who loves travel, and has come -- at middle age -- to enjoy motorcycling... This is honestly an AMAZING book.

I knew of Neil Peart as a talented rock drummer and lyricist, but I knew nothing of his tragedy or his widely varied talents and interests. He has read anything he can get his hands on, and it comes through in the writing.

If there's one criticism, at times the book can be redundant due to its inclusion of letters written during his journey, sometimes conveying the same information to several different correspondents. Don't let that deter you from enjoying this fantastic book.

Brilliantly disguised as a children's book, this biting satire speaks beautifully for equality, making the point that our differences make us unique, but the fact that we all HAVE differences is what unites us. Featuring Mike Pence's pet rabbit (who is currently off hawking another, Karen Pence-approved, book) telling the story of the very special day he fell in love... with a boy bunny! Follow their battle to love each other, in spite of the sanctimonious stinkbug who insists that boy bunnies MUST marry girl bunnies.
