I have a system with reading books: there are books I know I just want to read and put down when I'm finished so I buy the Kindle edition; there are books I know I want to listen to the author read because I want the tone and expression that was intended when it was written, so I purchase the audiobook; there are books that I know immediately I will want to highlight, take notes, and refer back to over and over again so I buy the physical copy ; and finally, there are those special books that I want to listen to, have available wherever I am, AND make notes in, so I buy all three versions.
This, is one of those books: a delight to listen to more than once; a trove of information to highlight and refer to again and again, and a great read when I find myself somewhere with some time on my hands. So yes, I have multiple copies and I can't wait to read it again!

I have always supported the Bush presidency, and while I realize that he was not perfect and didn't always make the correct decisions, I trusted him. I trusted that he would always try his best to do what was right. This book has confirmed that in my eyes. The book details how he came to make the important decisions in his personal life and in his presidency. It is evident in his decision-making that he truly was trying to do the very best job he could in every area of his life. The book is extremely candid. President Bush details his failures as well as his successes. Most impressive to me is the fact that he never speaks ill of any of his political opponents. The times he mentions President Clinton, or President Obama, it is to commend decisions that they made in crisis situations. He is a class act.

The one concern I had when I purchased this book was the fact that it was not read by the author. I usually prefer books read by their author as this is the best way to get the true meaning of the words as they were intended, rather than someone else's interpretation of them. HOWEVER, the narrator of this book does an excellent job! I often forget that I'm not listening to the President himself reading his words.

In short, this is an excellent and informative book that is both well written and excellently narrated. Great Job!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. When listening it felt as though the narrator was just
telling a story that actually happened to him. I believed every word and found myself wondering at the end if the story was true or just a work of fiction. I really wanted to go and research this "Calico Joe" for myself and learn more about him as well as Paul Tracy! A great book of regret and forgiveness.
