Historia
Ged and Tenar first met in their youth, when he was a powerful wizard and she a high priestess. Together, they escaped the Tombs of Atuan and brought peace to the troubled archipelago of Earthsea. Years later, their paths have diverged. Ged - once Archmage of Roke and the greatest wizard on all of Earthsea - has sacrificed his magical powers to defeat a great evil. Meanwhile, Tenar, now widowed and with grown-up children, runs a farm on the isle of Gont, where Ged was born.

Sleeper hit
Revisado: 07-20-19
Not my favorite cycle in this series, normally I like the first 3 books better. However this version breaths a lot of life into the latter books of the series. I would actually say series 2 is stronger than the first part.

Which comes first
Revisado: 08-06-18
In all my Terry Pratchett reading, this novel is the one i go back to time and time again. The only problem is you have to read the other discworld novels to get a glimpse at the layers within layers that this intricate quilt of a novel provides. Perhaps that is the genius of these novels, they take a thought, a simple thought, that branches out into other thoughts which branch into other thoughts and pretty soon all these thoughts light up the mind.

Historia
In the far future among the colonized worlds of the galaxy, there's a war going on between the majority of civilized worlds and a colonial theocracy. Trystin Desoll grows up fighting against religious fanatics and becomes a hero, a first-class pilot, then, amazingly, a spy. What do you do if you're a relatively humane soldier fighting millions of suicidal volunteers on the other side who know that they are utterly right, and you are utterly wrong, with no middle ground? Trystin Desoll has an idea.

I had faith they would do this audiobook!
Revisado: 06-27-18
When i first got into audiobooks, this novel was one of the ones I searched for. I am glad they finally made it and made it well.
This novel is science fiction the way science fiction should be. Yes it tells a story of how humanity might be in a far distant future beyond this stellar system. However it does not forget that good stories depict a human story. This story follows Trystan Desol as he learns about cultures and the ways cultures meet and interact. This is a heroic story of a human choosing how he wants to live.
Joel Richard does a wonderful job with his performance.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Good Moon Shot
Revisado: 11-16-17
This was an enjoyable story. The heroine is a fiesty, sarcastic, slightly sarcastic twenty-something figuring out her world. As such Rosario Dawson does a great job conveying her voice. The world Weir creates for the story is interesting but not too novel.

Unexpectedly good!
Revisado: 06-12-17
I picked this book on a whim. I'm pleased with my gut instinct. The trope of the first ship out to the stars is one of my favorites so to see it from a new perspective was very pleasing. This means i will now have to read more Kim Stanley Robinson.
At first i wasn't sure about the reader but by the end Ali Ahn had sucked me into the story very well and I will be looking for her as well.

love this Trilogy of a book
Revisado: 09-08-16
This is really three books in one. As such it reminds me of the old first colonization series of the 70s and 80s. The first section is the leaving earth section. The next section is where to now section. The final section is the brave new world section. As such this novel has more than enough to interest anyone.
As much as I enjoyed this novel for its hard science I will admit that sometimes Stephenson plucks some scientific advances from thin air. On the other hand there are few novels that could remain hard scientifically accurate for as long a span of time as this novel covers.
The narrators do a solid job and can approach the voice and drama of the novel. This sounds like faint praise but considering the scope and breadth of Seveneves, I consider it quite an achievement.

Anxiously awaited!
Revisado: 07-08-16
What made the experience of listening to Earthsea the most enjoyable?
I hove long loved this series and now can listen to it in a new way.
What did you like best about this story?
It is a well-done adaptation. As such it condenses the overall story into a presentation worthy of the long cherished series.
Have you listened to any of Toby Jones’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
While I had not previously heard Toby Jones perform, I will be looking for more of his works.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
While you could enjoy this in one sitting, it matters not for you will enjoy it nonetheless.
Any additional comments?
Chapter 6 will awe you!

Historia
Arthur C. Clarke, it has often been pointed out, possess the best attributes of poet and scientist. Clarke is also a profound philosopher. This story is a rare example of sympathetic insight mingled with the best science-fiction traditions. It may shock or disturb you, but it will not leave you unmoved. One thing, however, is certain: it could have been written by no one else.

A star among stories!
Revisado: 07-05-16
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Star?
Of course the ending stands out for the sheer anguish and despair but the build up within the story was very well done.
What about Mike Vendetti’s performance did you like?
I love his voice! It matches the narrator perfectly.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
It has been done on t.v. at least once.
Any additional comments?
Clarke pulls awe and wonder from the sky and offers it from his hands to yours.
