Nice surprise!
Revisado: 12-20-24
Thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. The narrator was good, but a little too often halting needlessly in his read through. That said, the story was fabulous. I whisper-sinc’d these books because I don’t have a lot of time to just sit and read. But I preferred reading this series.

Her singular obsession is finding the mythical Book of Brin, a tome not just lost but intentionally buried. Respected and beloved by the Teshlor Knights, not even their legendary skills can protect her for what she finds is more dangerous than what she sought.

Very rewarding
Revisado: 09-10-23
Another great read in this long tale of reimagined evolution of mankind. I was fully immersed in the tale and enjoyed the characters so much, as evidenced by my tear stained cheeks. For that, I thank you, Mr. Sullivan. Now…I’m on to the final book, but I’ll give it a couple of days before I begin. I need to let this one settle in my mind’s eye for a bit.

So predictable
Revisado: 08-10-23
This was way too easy to predict from the onset and the mistakes are annoying. A serial killer going 20 years without another kill? A home security installation completed in 15 minutes? One Xanax and 2 glasses of wine making someone incapable of functioning? And there’s more. But the most annoying for me is the author using “anyways.” Intelligent ppl know the word should never be pluralized.it’s unlikely a PHD would be so illiterate. I should’ve stopped when I first heard it used. I’ll give credit to the writing tho. It moves at a decent pace and the story flows. The narrator is also decent. So there’s that at least.

It was okay
Revisado: 07-11-23
The writing is good but the main character lacked grit - something a veteran Chicago cop would’ve earned after decades on the job. I found him a little boring.

Wolf of the North: It has been generations since the Northlands have seen a hero worthy of the title. Many have made the claim, but few have lived to defend it. Timid, weak, and bullied, Wulfric is as unlikely a candidate as there could be. Jorundyr's Path: Jorundyr's Path is walked only by the brave. As Wulfric pursues Adalhaid's Blood Debt, he soon learns that the path to revenge is never easy. The Blood Debt: A blade fit for a hero. An army for a tyrant. A reckoning long awaited, and a tale reaching its end.

Fun, fast paced read. Rich characters and story. The author was new to me but I’m looking forward to reading more of his works. Simon Vance (narrator) is always fantastic. I love a good escape read and this one fit the bill.

It was entertaining…
Revisado: 02-23-23
But, I found the story a bit messy at times. Meaning it got too scattered with characters and I never found any of the relationships or characters truly relatable on an emotional level. I completed the series but wasn’t upset it was over. Also, for the majority of the series I engaged Audible and I didn’t enjoy the narrator at all, which very well could’ve affected my experience.

Revisado: 08-10-22
I wrote after the first book in this series that I found many characters to be insufferable, although I enjoyed the mystery/story. The next two in the series have annoyed me a little less and the plot is really building. I’m excited for the fourth and final book due out soon!

Not sure yet
Revisado: 07-26-22
I’ll be reading/listening to the next one in the series but I’m not yet enthralled. I find many of the characters, old and new, weak, whinny and insufferable. That may be Tad’s intent, as evidenced by some in the original series, but it seems more overwhelming this time around and makes it difficult to relate when there are no inspiring heroes, only mooncalves. The story has an ample amount of growing mystery and intrigue to keep me interested though, so I’ll carry on in the hope that a hero or two may emerge.
