Great Thriller and Nail Biter!

Excellent story by an author whom I did not know was an author! The storyline really opened my eyes to just how vulnerable our nation is to an attack as described in this book. The 1st person narration of the protagonist Ben Porter kept me the reader in the moment as I learned about events as he did in real time. The identity of the FBI mole ricocheted back and forth in my mind among the possible rats. This kept me guessing until the end. A great read and highly recommended.

I have listened to all of the Longmire audio books and this one is the best! I'm anxiously waiting for the next one after the cliffhanger ending to Western Star.

I have not seen the movie but now plan to do so. I learned so much more about the valor and patriotism of those brave warriors who put their lives on the line and survived, and of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and did not come home. The outcome would most certainly have been much different if the annex men were not ordered stand down.

This audiobook is relatively short but its premise of a homeland ISIS attack like that described is not only plausible but very likely. Your blood will likely boil like mine did at the conclusion when the principle of "never let a crisis go to waste" is deftly exploited by the POTUS. There is no timeline explicitly stated, but my assumption is that the current occupant of the White House would react as depicted. I hope there is a sequel in the works.
