Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Great stuff
Revisado: 11-04-23
Good continuation from the first book and really pulls you in from the beginning. Nice to see Raiden at a power level were everyone isn't looking down on him all the time and the school fighting was good. The sectionals fighting was a little off since the book kept doing this annoying thing were they would skip the fight and then one of the characters would say something pointlessly dramatic and it wouldn't be until like 5 mins of drama suspense that they would finally elaborate and then describe how the fight went. Had this happened only one time it wouldn't have been a big deal but they just kept doing it over and over. To save time should have just done the fights quick from the perspective of the arena announcer or something instead of just skipping it for some pointless suspense. Was like listening to a guy tell you an interesting story but he won't stop pausing to keep you in suspense instead of just getting to the dang juicy details. Book has some interesting implications for the next few, and the powers each of them are getting.Looking forward to continuing this series.

Historia
Arthur lives with his father, a fallen but proud former noble, in Border Village #49, along with the other good folks condemned to toil in service to the Baron. But Arthur has an edge: a stolen heart card that secretly fell into his possession, thanks to a dragon. It’s a priceless source of power for the Baron and the tyrant will kill to get it back. Invaluable, too, to a young man of spellcasting ambitions.

Awsome magic and deckbuilding book with dragons. Basically has everything anyone could ever want. Only gripe would be the heavy plot armor required to keep this going aka the chances of him finding a dragon that is compatible to his card seems like such a long shot that it could only be done via heavy plot armor.

Historia
One hundred years before Ender's Game, the aliens arrived on Earth with fire and death. Earth Afire by Orson Scott Card and Aaron Johnston is the story of the First Formic War. Victor Delgado beat the alien ship to Earth, but just barely. Not soon enough to convince skeptical governments that there was a threat. They didn't believe that until space stations and ships and colonies went up in sudden flame. And when that happened, only Mazer Rackham and the Mobile Operations Police could move fast enough to meet the threat.

good stuff

Enjoyed the story ans the characters. The characters from the first book had some good growth. Only complaint with the book is how abruptly it ends. The ending was right in the middle of a good action scene and then just abruptly ends with no conclusion or anything.

alaxy. Humanity was slowly making their way out from Earth to the planets and asteroids of the Solar System, exploring and mining and founding colonies. The mining ship El Cavador is far out from Earth, in the deeps of the Kuiper Belt, beyond Pluto. Other mining ships, and the families that live on them, are few and far between this far out. So when El Cavador's telescopes pick up a fast-moving object coming in-system, it's hard to know what to make of it. It's massive and moving at a significant fraction of the speed of light.

great start
Revisado: 11-28-22
as always Orson Scott is Amazing and his books never seem to disappoint. Believable story and rich characters. The only complaint I would have is we didn't get a first contact scene which I find almost blasphemous in a sci fi book about two races meeting how could you leave out the chapter were first contact happened. Maybe we will find out what happened to start the war or maybe we won't but leaving us wondering is kinda dumb. Or if it is explained in other books then it's presumptive.

Good Sci Fi
Revisado: 06-03-22
was a solid story with interesting characters who make human decisions and try and make the best of it. The only things I wasn't a big fan of but was willing to accept it is that something as stupid as a monarchy could survive in a space age race. The leaders seemed almost to "perfect" as just noble rulers and that only made them feel fake. The lady who reads this might be one of the worst I've ever heard. Her voice wasn't bad and once I got used to her accents it was OK but the entire book it sounds like she recorded this with the microphone inside her mouth. No one listens to these to hear some juicy mouth noises. I'm going to continue this series and will probably finish it but I'm not getting the next audio book version of this because just having the Alexa app read the book from my kindle library would be 10x better than the audiobook version. Don't let a bad narrator stop you from the series just use Alexa or something similar.

Historia
Jack is violently pulled into a game-like universe and dumped into a seaside town on the brink of destruction. When the people of Blackmoor Cove begin to ask about his combat role, Jack discovers his odd Hero Class and finds that parts of his game interface are riddled with exposed coding errors. He quickly learns that the only way the town can grow and push back the unknown substance threatening to consume it is if brave Heroes venture into an infinitely high, ever-changing tower, kill bizarre monsters for their equipment drops, and then deposit those items into a special chest.

Waited way to long to read this one
Revisado: 04-11-22
This series has always been popping up in my recommended list for a long time and I was just never interested in it. Not sure why must have been the covor or the name that didn't really pull me in. While looking for a good tower climber series I saw this one mentioned and thought I'd finally give it a shot and it did not disappoint at all. This is quickly becoming my favorite tower climber series of all time and would recommend it to anyone.

Was a great book and never a bad listen when read by the legendary R. C. Brey. This story kinda hits close to home and I personally believe that if humanity ever makes it to this level of technology than this book will be the likely outcome.

Amazing journey
Revisado: 12-11-21
Words cannot express how amazing this book is. The depth of each character makes it feel so real that I found myself having an invested interest in not only the main character Jake but also his friends and Allies. This was an amazing experience and length for a single book that actually felt like I was reading multiple books. When listening or reading most books in this genre I can usually tell the direction the story is going in and can guess what is going to happen next but not even once was I able to do that in this book. This book performed by the legendary Travis Baldree deserves more than 5 stars and anyone who gives it less than that deserves to be dragged out into the street and shot.
