Historia
Eve Hatch lives for surprises! Just kidding. She expects every tomorrow to be pretty much the same as today. She loves her cozy apartment in Brooklyn that’s close to her childhood best friend Willa, and far from her midwestern, traditional family who has never really understood her. While her job is only dream-adjacent, it’s comfortable and steady. She always knows what to expect from her life . . . until she finds herself expecting after an uncharacteristic one-night stand.

LOVE ALL AROUND
Revisado: 04-22-25
I love this book so much. Eve’s character and voice is so clear and unique and quirky (and the narrator did the perfect job at portraying her exactly as she is). Listening along while Eve navigates an unexpected pregnancy and all the relationships around her feels so realistic. The birth scene was also wayyyy more like real life than I’ve ever read in a fiction book. I loved everything about this book, particularly that there wasn’t the huge heart-wrenching challenge toward the end that makes you cry because you just want it to work out. There was certainly the aspect of “I want this to work out!!”, but it didn’t feel depressingly like it wouldn’t. Love love love this book, the author, and the narrator.

One typo, and a boy and girl connect by chance. Wishing each other a happy Valentine’s Day isn’t the end. In fact, it becomes a friendly annual tradition—with rules: no pics, no real names, nothing too personal. As years pass, the rules for their email “dates” are breaking, and they’re sharing more than they imagined—including the urge to ask…what if we actually met?

I’m absolutely giddy
Revisado: 03-02-25
I can’t stop grinning!!! The entire story was pure perfection! At the beginning, it was tough listening to all the email formatting, but when the conversations became longer it was so fun to hear it all. Ah, the way C & T met in person was a dream and so funny. And C’s cheekiness following that made me equally wanting their identities to both be revealed, and wanting the secret to last just a little bit longer. I already can’t wait to listen to this book again!

I've heard a lot of things about Weston Cole. Popular. Conceited. Supercilious. He's spent the last three years steadily dismantling my family's legacy. I should hate him. And I did. Until I encountered him freshman year and discovered he's also troubled. Captivating. Audacious. And when I come across him again senior year, it turns out that knowledge is even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk....

Cute high school forbidden romance!
Revisado: 03-02-25
Loveeeed this one!! While this intense of a high school rivalry isn’t something I’ve personally experienced, the way the author showcases it makes me feel a bit like I do know! I absolutely loved how Wes and Maeve meet and reconnect later on. It feels natural and realistic. Then the way they continued on from there was fun and sweet and also frustrating! I laughed many times and also said “nooooo” and “what are you doing?” during the listen. I would 100% recommend.
Warming: explicit language, mild to moderate intimate scenes.

I can’t with this series!!!! SO GOOD
Revisado: 02-25-25
I love this series so much!! Getting to know the team and their partners is the absolute best! This one with Adam and Rosie is so good! They have been through some of the same stuff and find such comfort and connection through that. They are always there for each other. Plus, seeing sweet Adam get everything he’s deserving of is just perfection. And Rosie getting everything she’s dreamed of is beyond sweet. I love them so much!

Carter Beckett is the NHL’s resident bad boy, top player both on the ice and in the bedroom, and quite possibly the sexiest man to ever grace my field of vision. But worst of all? He knows it. He’s arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn’t seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one. He’s had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently, I’m up next. I have the solution to all my sexual frustrations in a drawer at home, and it’s far less complicated than Carter Beckett.

Hooked from the beginning!!!
Revisado: 02-18-25
LOVEEEEED this one! Okay, overall it was the absolute perfect book but that third act breakup nearly had me crying. Seriously. I wanted to skip to the end. The whole situation was probably exactly what everyone needed, but WHEW am I glad it ended with a happily ever after. Carter’s redemption, Olivia working through her communication issues and fear, family and friend interactions, etc. was all done so well! Would definitely recommend and read again.
There was explicit language and LOTS of adult content, for anyone who likes to know!

BEST
Revisado: 02-15-25
This was such a GREAT contemporary romance book!!! It felt so realistic. The story, the characters and their interactions, their thoughts and actions- everything. I loved all the drama and bad stuff that happened because it really showed how Chase and Bailey worked through their issues, and it didn’t feel easily resolved like some books make it out to be. It felt like a true response from someone going through the things they did.
The narrators were exceptional and not annoying in the slightest.
Loved it and would definitely listen again!
There was explicit content. Language and sexual content were the most prevalent. Make sure to check content warnings for this book!

The best Lauren Blakely novel I’ve read
Revisado: 02-12-25
Lauren Blakely is simply not the author for me. While I think her stories have good premises, I tend not to connect much with her characters.
Kismet was the best novel I’ve read by her, though. There was slightly more character depth in this one, and a more interesting storyline overall. I don’t know how much I can really judge a short novel, but it felt like there was so much missing. At first, the characters felt realistic, but Heath was really unbelievable at times. The author was going for the grumpy/sunshine thing but really didn’t set Heath up well AT ALL. You kind of see the grumpy guy for half a chapter, but since he met Jo so early and turned super soft for her immediately, that part of his character is unbelievable.
I liked Jo just fine. Her character was realistic.
The end was sweet and satisfying. There is spice in this book, by the way!! Definitely a few scenes that are not safe for work listening!
This was me giving Lauren Blakely a chance, but she really just is not the author for me.

Gemma Summers is unlucky in love. She's known it since third grade, when her first crush blew a spitball into her hair, and a decade-long string of bad dates, boring sex, and abysmal morning afters has done nothing to improve her prospects. But when a random radio call-in contest lands her courtside tickets to the hottest playoff game of the season, Gemma's luck may finally be on the upswing, even if it doesn't exactly seem like it when the dreaded Jumbotron kiss cam lands on her and her date.

Revisado: 02-10-25
I got half way through the book and couldn’t take more of the characters. While I really wanted to like Gemma and Chase as their own characters, I didn’t. I rooted for them to be together, because who doesn’t love a happily ever after, but apart, I couldn’t quite get it. Gemma is an adult woman who has had a life and career and at least one relationship, and while it doesn’t make her an expert, she was portrayed as being so clueless and helpless. And the author was trying to do two totally different things with Chase. One was to make him a no-nonsense, I-always-get-my-way billionaire guy, and two was to make him a down-to-earth secret softy. It can be done, but this author didn’t seem to do it. His motivations, and inner thoughts, and actions didn’t all align. It all felt very tropey and forced. Also, the narrator’s inflections and voices were not matching up to the characters.

Dual POV exceptionally done!
Revisado: 01-28-25
I loved this book!! While navigating two different timelines, the author switched between Grace’s and Henry’s POVs, which helps keep everything clear! So much about the history from Grace’s POV is murky and mysterious, but it gets cleared up each time Henry comes on. Henry’s POV is maddening because it’s all the awful mistakes the two of them had to live the first time, and I felt frustrated during those times, even though I so badly wanted everything to be cleared up!! It was seriously such a good book and of course the narrators (Daisy Edgar Jones and Sam Clafin) were exceptional. Will read again!

I can’t find the right words
Revisado: 01-25-25
NO SPOILERS HERE.
There was no chance this book wasn’t going to rip out my heart, simply based on the end of Iron Flame.
Rebecca Yarros did an incredible job world-building! I think there could have been more exploration of other characters, like there was in Iron Flame, but the exploration of the world was exactly what I needed.
I’m very glad the miscommunication didn’t continue in this one because DANG that was rough in the last two. It was all about true love and doing it all for the sake of the people you care most about. This book tested the boundaries of “how far will you really go for them?” Of course, the end was GRIPPING!!! I am really scared and ready to read the fourth book and am hoping desperately for some relief. I love these characters so much.
