Historia
Kay Willingham led a life as glamorous as it was public - she was a gorgeous Georgetown socialite, philanthropist, and the ex-wife of the vice president. So why was she parked in a Bentley convertible idling behind a DC private school, in the middle of the night, with the man who was the head of that school? Who shot them both, point blank, and why? The shocking double homicide is blazed across the internet, TV, newspapers - and across Alex Cross's mind. Kay had been his patient once. And maybe more.

Another Cross Book
Revisado: 01-04-23
I still enjoy Alex Cross books but sometimes the pattern is just slightly above average. This book is one of the patterns. The story came together with a few dull moments then culminated in the last hour of the audio with not much fanfare.

Historia
Quinn Quicksilver was born a mystery—abandoned at three days old on a desert highway in Arizona. Raised in an orphanage, never knowing his parents, Quinn had a happy if unexceptional life. Until the day of “strange magnetism.” It compelled him to drive out to the middle of nowhere. It helped him find a coin worth a lot of money. And it practically saved his life when two government agents showed up in the diner in pursuit of him. Now Quinn is on the run from those agents and who knows what else, fleeing for his life.

Only Half Audiobook
Revisado: 02-28-22
In my opinion an audiobook is to use when driving, exercising, other activity. Over half this audio requires you to either have a screen or printout over 100 page PDF in order to follow. The format is not bad and organized well but the narrator is hard to understand and causes you to lose your interest.

Historia
When Ball Four was published in 1970, it created a firestorm. Bouton was called a Judas, a Benedict Arnold and a “social leper” for having violated the “sanctity of the clubhouse.” Baseball commissioner Bowie Kuhn tried to force Bouton to sign a statement saying the book wasn’t true. Ballplayers, most of whom hadn’t read it, denounced the book. It was even banned by a few libraries. Almost everyone else, however, loved Ball Four.

A True Baseball Classic
Revisado: 07-18-20
I have always been a huge baseball fan but had never got around to reading Ball Four. Narrated by the author, this is one of the best sports books I have ever listened to and I am so glad I finally got around to it. Bouton starts by taking us on a season long journey of one of my favorite pastimes. I grew into loving baseball in the seventies and never thought about how tough it was to not only make it but make a living at it. Bouton provides a pitch by pitch look into the life of a baseball player through the ups and downs of a season, a career, and life. Baseball players before the creation of free agency were at the mercy of owners but still through it all they loved the game most dreamed of playing. This book provides comedy and some tragedy along the way. With Ball Four you get a view from the pitcher's mound, the bullpen, the dugout, in the front row, the locker room, the hotel room, and the even the family room. If you're a baseball fan and interested how life used to be before the multi-million-dollar contracts, or just a fan of great literary work, Ball Four is a must read!
