I recently listened to the audiobook "Becoming Bulletproof" by Evy Poumpouras, and I found it insightful. Poumpouras's voice is easy to listen to.

As someone who leads a very inactive lifestyle, hearing her discuss the physical training at the academy, particularly the running exercises, was inspiring. She also mentioned learning jiu-jitsu and the strength required to handle a fire hose, which made me dream of becoming strong and fit, especially since I currently struggle with obesity and poor health.

I appreciated learning about U.S. presidents and their wives. As a non-U.S. citizen with little knowledge or interest in American politics, it was interesting to hear more personal stories about them.

Two insights that stood out to me were her technique for detecting lies by asking people to tell their stories in reverse and the story of her and her partner drinking Pepsi with a suspect to create a sense of equality. These practical tips were useful.

While I skipped over a few bits that felt obvious, the majority of the information was compelling. Overall, "Becoming Bulletproof" is an interesting listen.

USA Weather for Dummies who live in the USA

This book focuses mainly on the USA.

I must express my disappointment with "Weather for Dummies." While seeking a comprehensive guide to weather science, I found the book lacking in depth and clarity. The long, dragged-out explanations, chaotic writing style, too much filler, and excessive humor detracted from the educational value. The illogical organization and US-centric focus further hindered my understanding and engagement.

In sum, the book fell short of my expectations, leaving me longing for a more informative and structured resource on weather science.

This book is too long.

The title of this book should be changed to "The never-ending USA weather dummies".

THE NARATOR TALKS TOO MUCH

While this book offers valuable information, it is marred by repetition of basic common sense things, such as explaining how to do a quiz, or constant reminders that the listener can review the materials as often as desired. This is common sense and therefore I find the narrator to be overly-verbose. The audiobook's thorough content is overshadowed by unnecessary explanations, constant reminders, and annoying overly-enthusiastic words of encouragement. Trimming these distractions would enhance the learning experience and greatly improve the book.

Boring and repetitive

It's the same thing over and over again. The whole story is about him being a sweet innocent little boy who desperately tried to please everyone but was constantly disappointed, unloved or rejected and everything in his life was destroyed by paps. Every time a new topic starts, you know it's going to end with but Willy was so mean to him and he thought he was safe but then the paps arrived. That's the whole book. Again and again. So boring. 🥱 Yawn!!! It's all about him being the victim. I doubt anyone can deny that the RF is dysfunctional, cold hearted and aloof, but he also needs to take responsibility for his own actions. His voice is very monotonous. The story just dragged on and on. The only part the I enjoyed was about his time in the army and the parts about Africa. That was exciting to me. I also don't think it was necessary for him write about his todger. Imagine a female writing a memoir and including details about a vaginal infection!!! Anyway, after listening to this story dragging on forever, I still don't know why he needed to buy such an expensive house instead of buying a modest house and using his money for the security which he so desperately desires. I hope one day Harry will realize he is not the only person with family problems but other people keep their problems private.
