it was okay
Revisado: 09-16-23
The corgi character was great; and I like the gal who owns the cookbook/cookware shop. Some parts of the book were enough to draw you on for a while. But the big reveal felt rushed, like the author ran up against the publisher's deadline and had to get something on paper.
My biggest issues with the book were with some of the main character's comments. He is a bit judge-y. He seems to get hung up on one of the characters and is uncomfortable, partly because he can't determine their gender right away. And there were a few minor things that could be seen as a tiny bit sexist.

Historia
Winifred Page might feel apprehension as she steps into the Koffee Kiln—Carla Beaker’s new charming coffee shop and pottery studio—but her corgi sidekick, Watson, welcomes the idea of a new place for snacks. With Carla’s disdain for the Cozy Corgi Bookshop and Bakery, Fred fears the caffeine will come with a side of drama. What she finds is delicious chocolate espresso scones, decaf coffee … and a dead body.

Another lovely adventure with Fred & Watson.

Worth the listen. And, of course, the featured baked goods make me crave whatever they are talking about.

That's why they're trying to drum up business with the "First Annual Christmas at the Orchard", a good old-fashioned holiday festival with enough delicious draw to satisfy apple-picking locals and cider-loving tourists alike - until the whole endeavor takes a sour turn when the body of Nadine Cooper, Granny's long-time, grudge-holding nemesis, is found lodged in the apple press.

Horrible Narration - returned book
Revisado: 12-23-22
Wasn't drawn in by thevstiry during the first chapter; and couldn't get further into the book to see if it got better later on because the narration was so very annoying. In fact, the narration was so bad that I couldn't have listened to more of the book even if I had liked the writing.

Same plot as the previous two.
Revisado: 12-09-22
Narrator is good, as always. Plot is the same as the previous two books; thus the main character's behavior starts to get annoying. The best character in all three books is Cookie.
