The story of this book is very mediocre. That isn't to say there's anything bad about, it's a mostly ok Star Wars adventure, but it doesn't have much that makes it special. That being said Marc Thompson and Saskia Maarleveld make ann amazing team alternating back and forth between Han and Leia. Their narration made this book really stand out.

This was a solid story from start to finish. It ties in with the phase 2 of the high republic stories, though I think on its own it wouldn't make much sense what was going on. As part of the whole of the High Republic it's fantastic though. My biggest gripe is the fact that there's a character named Creighton and one named Kradon pronounced nearly identically, thankfully they never interact so the confusion is minimal.

Freed's military stories shine again.

It's a spy book with no spies. And it's a military book with people who don't know how to get along. Those basic elements don't sound like much but Alexander Freed's writing made most of the characters extremely likable while they're doing and thinking horrible things.
