Galen Surlak-Ramsey delivered another great story! No over the top technical discussions that make you feel stupid. No brooding hero/heroine who questions every decision. Great battles, wonderful characters, interesting story line - lots of fun! The only issue I had was the main character was given an Australian accent. I am not sure if this was the narrators decision or the author but it sometimes made the character too cute and lacked some strength. Overall, Katherine Littrell gave a wonderful performance and I truly enjoyed this story.

Great story about the myth behind the Reaper

The main story line was well thought out and truly enjoyable. It was interesting learning about the different periods in the Reapers life and how his powers work. It did get a little confusing towards the end with the cast of characters which I believe has more to do with listening to the story than reading it (hence the four stars). The narrator, John Pirhalla, did a wonderful job separating each voice of the characters and giving them their own voice. Overall all a thoroughly enjoyable series!

Not hardcore at all

I am sorry to say that none of these stories were that scary. I read a lot of horror and thought I try listening to some for a change.
I understand that these were short stories but many of the stories ended rather abruptly as if they were trying not to go over a word limit. They contain some build up but fell flat. Decent campfire stories but not scary enough to be true horror. The narrator did an okay job but most of the time it felt like he was telling a story to the person standing next to him without trying to get too excited.

Great, great, great LitRpg story

I was very pleased with this story. The action and fight scenes were fast paced and full of excitement. The characters were believable (for monsters) and the story was well thought out. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 stars was some things seemed too convenient. You could argue that is typical in a game but for a story I felt some things should have been more of a struggle to earn. Eric Martin did a wonderful job narrating and keeping the voices distinct from one another! This is definitely one to have if you enjoy LitRpg or even a nice little fantasy story!!

Interesting little Whodunnit

For a shorter than normal title I really enjoyed this story. It was slightly predictable but it moved along at a good pace. The beginning of the story deals with the technical side of surgery without confusing or boring the listener. The main character was well developed and the narration was performed very well.

Oh boy!

This story was a bit of a mess for me. The overall story was pretty good or at least it has great potential. It seemed very rushed at times and things were just thrown out there without any real explanation of how it worked or what it actually meant. This could easily be redeveloped into a three book series with everything fleshed out and explained properly, which would probably be an incredible story!

The narrator did a decent job but I always felt liked he was cracking a joke with each sentence. There was a jolliness although sarcastic tone to his voice that was very distracting. The story was also littered with too many idioms which seemed either made up or too bizarre to even understand.

Too much happens too fast which made it very difficult to follow.

Decent story but difficult to focus on

The overall story was pretty good with lots of action but I just couldn't see where the author was truly going. The two main characters are brothers who seem to have nothing in common regarding anything, The older brother appears very robot like, only acting as the dutiful son. Whereas the younger one seems very self-centered, always has a hidden agenda and is always to lying to protect himself. Truthfully the only thing they have in common is that they are both extremely unlikable.

The most difficult aspect of this reading were the accents. Everyone had what I assume was supposed to be some sort of Slavic accent which made them all sound for the most part unemotional.

Not scary at all - more like newspaper stories

Although the some of the stories were unnerving they were not at all scary. It was like listening to the ABC show 20/20 or Unsolved Mysteries. There are straight up murders by home invaders and some supernatural ones, such as the first exorcism. Unfortunately, each one of them read like a detailed news story. The narrator did a fine job and kept me listening but I was looking for something much more scary.

Great, great story

I really enjoyed this story and do recommend it if you like fantasy/paranormal with a little YA romance mixed with action, horror and intrigue. The story continued to move along at the perfect pace to hold my attention and keep me listening, and Allyson Voller does a wonderful job bringing life to these characters.

I have read and listened to other works by Jo Ho and enjoyed these stories just as much! The only issue I had is that these girls find they have powers, truly magical powers and they are more concerned about going to class and keeping up their grades than trying to understand their powers. Doesn't seem like anyone, especially a young adult, would not be obsessed with understanding or learning more. Regardless, I can't wait for the rest of the series!!

Great exercises for everyone, even a non-golfer

After listening to this title I went back and started doing these simple exercises. Being slightly overweight and struggling with shoulder issues I found the exercises to be just what I needed. I'm starting my third week of following this routine and I can definitely feel the difference. I can raise my arms and shoulders higher and I can even rotate my upper body farther than I have in a long time.

I think I may have enjoyed this more because of the narration from Bill Nevitt. His narration is very clear and distinct and he does a wonderful job keeping the listeners attention.
