Overwhelmed with Social Justice

I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st two boxed sets of this series, but I'm struggling to make it through the 1st book here. It's so full of obvious social/political garbage that it ruins the immersion of the tale. Is there no escape from being hit over the head with all the preaching? I have no animosity toward anyone, and just want to be left alone to enjoy a good book. Aparantly that is going to be increasingly difficult. I'll try and finish this, but it's looking doubtful. Seriously disappointed.

I NEED the next one

I thought this was going to be the average snarky paranormal type story (think Scott Meyer or David Wong) with the pixies serving a comic relief, how very wrong I was. The story was quite compelling and the pace was perfect. The daily routine of the Butler served as a comfortable scaffold to build the story. I feel like this shouldn't have worked, it should have been boring, but I hated to set it down.

The antagonists were not so egregious as to make me want to put it down, as often happens. The antagonists made for a very compelling narrative, and allowed me to thoroughly dislike them without making me dread what came next.

Overall I was enchanted and strangely comforted by the story and cannot wait for the next book.

Extremely Disappointed

I've read so many Sigma novels throughout my life I was excited to start another. However, I was simply disgusted by the neo-feminist overtones; they repeatedly took me right out of the story. I read/listen to fiction as an escape from the crud we're constantly force-fed. I had to turn it off and walk away. No more Rollins for me.

Don't Pay Attention to the Dolphins

Dispite the low reviews from all the Dolphins, this Audible offering is a ton of fun! I don't think Dolphins have a sense of humor.
Actual laugh out loud books are a bit rare, and this one had me laughing like a lunatic all the way through. I had to share plot points with friends and family and they all want to read/listen to it now.
Adam Baldwin is amazing, as always. If you don't love Adam Baldwin, you're wrong.
The story is a silly lark; a comical look at the absurdity of today's world. Zombie Furries, Bovine Butt plugs, Elder Beings, Flaming Farts of Death Horse, Dolphins with zero sense of humor, and of course, Excellent Customer Service... what's not to like?

Just About Perfect

I've been listening to a fair few audio books over the past months, many of which have been disappointing in one way or another. This was one was so refreshing! Hounded finds a delicate balance: fun without being silly. It also provides action, mystery, supernatural/mythology, characters one is immediately invested in, and the perfect pace.
I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I am jumping straight into the next.

Great Fun

At first I was quite put off by the narrator & his cadence; however, after a few minutes I fell into the rhythm with him. He suits the main character well - puts me in the mind of Idris Elba doing a Luther noir.
The setting immediately felt familiar in it's strangeness; very reminiscent of Neil Gaiman's London Below from Neverwhere.
I enjoyed this immensely.

Proper ending.

So often, especially as of late, epic tales have improper endings. Many times, the characters have a neck breaking redemption V (not arc) and pull off some completely out of character act to wrap the story up with a nice, though unbelievable bow. Not so on the Roci. Everyone held to their core character and fulfilled their destiny's nicely. It just felt right.
Best Sci-fi in DECADES.
