Historia
When artist Dani Manchester learns she’s slowly losing her vision, she becomes unmoored. Her ex-husband died only months before, leaving Dani and her preteen daughter grief stricken. Suddenly, the life Dani built for her family on the Outer Banks feels like a painful reminder of all they’ve lost. On a whim, Dani sells her waterfront home and buys an old farm inland near the Virginia state line. But Dani’s daughter recoils at the sudden, drastic change. The Outer Banks’ sun-swept beaches, pink dawns, and savage storms are all she’s ever known.

Historia
Paris, 1938. Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiaparelli are fighting for recognition as the most successful and influential fashion designer in France, and their rivalry is already legendary. They oppose each other at every turn, in both their politics and their designs: Chanel's are classic, elegant, and practical; Schiaparelli's bold, experimental, and surreal. When Lily Sutter travels to Paris to visit her brother, Charlie, he insists on buying her a couture dress for her birthday - a Chanel. Lily reluctantly agrees but wants a Schiaparelli, not a Chanel.

I felt as if I was in a friend’s room as she told me about herself. We had reached a point in time when we could share our thoughts and experiences without judgment. And this brought us closer together. If you like how you feel in your clothes and how it represents your personality, this book would interest you.
I knew the history but loved this perspective.

Historia
A haunting dream that will not relent pulls author Kent Nerburn back into the hidden world of Native America, where dreams have meaning, animals are teachers, and the "old ones" still have powers beyond our understanding. In this moving narrative, we travel through the lands of the Lakota and the Ojibwe, where we encounter a strange little girl with an unnerving connection to the past, a forgotten asylum that history has tried to hide, and complex, unforgettable characters.

Respect for the American Indian
Revisado: 10-29-23
This book touched my soul. In 1958 my parents took me to a small reservation somewhere in Florida. I was in awe of the people and their craft, their kindness and their patience to an 8 year girl. I studied anthropology but the American Indian was barely explored. Australia, New Zealand SW was heavily covered.
It’s time to learn more about the American Indian. I hope more people read this book and learn a valuable lesson about nature.

Great scientists and diligent data collection
Revisado: 10-21-22
I grew up during the 50s when polio was on the mind of every American. It took years and evolution of thought many times over to achieve the cure of the 3 variants of this virus.
It was the life work of Salk and Sabin and the many technicians. The recurrence of it even now we can learn from. HIV COVID-19.
Every day Americans also were instrumental is bring the cure.
Please read this book filled with facts and also hope.
Americans working together for a common goal and common good. That was the American way. And that should be the American way now.

Historia
Aurora is a small town nestled in the ancient forest alongside the shores of Minnesota’s Iron Lake. In the summer of 1963, it is the whole world to 12-year-old Cork O’Connor, its rhythms as familiar as his own heartbeat. But when Cork stumbles upon the body of a man he revered hanging from a tree in an abandoned logging camp, it is the first in a series of events that will cause him to question everything he took for granted about his hometown, his family, and himself.

American Indians should be revered
Revisado: 02-15-22
I have had an interest in the American Indian since I was 8 years old. They have not been given enough attention in our history books. Especially, in conjunction with the Dutch with whom they were originally treated as an equal.
Or how so many tribes and families that were separated and made to go to Christian boarding schools.
This book gives a glimpse of the American Indian life. Their thoughtful practices, their rituals, their sense of community, their pride and most of all their heritage.
This book has reawaken my respect and interest in American Indians. The quiet first Americans.
