Historia
Following his dad's death, Remington James returns to the small North Florida town where he grew up to assume his father's life - taking care of his dying mother and running the local gun and pawn shop. Picking up a camera again after a long hiatus, Remington returns to his first love, pursuing in earnest his lifelong dream of becoming a wildlife photographer. One fateful evening, while checking his camera traps, scanning the eerie images of overexposed deer and bats and foxes, Remington comes across the most haunting images of his life - the frame-by-frame capture of a shocking crime.

Great story!!
Revisado: 07-27-21
This was a great story. I couldn't stop listening until I was through. The hero is full of grit & determination to survive a harrowing experience & see justice triumph over lawless men & their wickedness. Although it's not a John Jordan mystery as the subtitle says, it's set in the same area & has a great main character. The narrator did a wonderful job to convey all the things I believe the author intended the reader/listener to feel.

Wow!! I love this series, this character, or rather these characters. Not only is John Jordan great, but he is surrounded with great friends. This was the most realistic story yet. I can say I never saw the ending coming! Great story, great narration, great author.

To those with the highest security clearance, it’s a line item known only as Project X. But to the half dozen agents and personnel working for it, it’s known as Firestorm, a black ops group so dark that the US president doesn’t even know about them yet. And no agent is as skilled as Brady Hawk.

Loved the story but its inconsistent to past books
Revisado: 06-23-21
Great narrator. Loved the story overall, but it had inconsistency with facts from the previous novels. This book refers to the previous as President Conrad Daniels; however, in books 1-11, the President's name is Conrad Michaels. Also, there is a video in this storyline showing the President committing suicide & the Vice Pres saw it & covered it up. In book 11, he started to commit suicide but changed his mind. He ditched his Secret Service guards, ran into the woods, argued with an arms dealer named Ackerman (who shot him) & the Vice Pres was not there. Otherwise, it was a good story.

Historia
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Very good. Loved it. Starts slow. Hang in there!!
Revisado: 11-16-20
This is a great story. I found it slow to begin with. However, many great stories start with a "this is the history up to now" type narrative that can make the story slow in the beginning, but stick with it!! The ending is worth the wait. I had to warm to the narrator as well but he is excellent & puts much enthusiasm into the story that brings the characters to life. In my opinion, its not Harry Potter caliber, but its a great story on its own.

Revisado: 07-30-19
Glad for the continuation of the story, but this one is missing something. Its kind not as good as the first book. The narrator is mechanical in her reading, almost computerized in some places.

Wonderful & spellbinding
Revisado: 04-23-19
I loved it!! The author did an awesome job of weaving a multilayered story from the past & the present. The narrator did a fabulous job of embuing the varied characters with life. I did not want to put it down. Eventhough the story is finished, I wish there was more. I have read many wonderful stories set in a variety of author conjured worlds, but this is the first that kept me winding around & around with hints here & there revealing itself bit by bit & in the end like finding oneself guided through a maze.

Wonderful story & narrator
Revisado: 04-15-19
The author did a wonderful job of putting together the folk lore of the mountains, beauty & mystery of Vanderbilt mansion, its family & guests. Serafina is a wonderful character with all the curiosity & cleverness any child (or adult) will love reading about. Ive encouraged my grandchildren to read this book. Can hardly wait to go on another adventure with the wonderful Serafina. I hope the author finds inspiration to write many other Serafina adventures.

Great book
Revisado: 04-13-19
I loved this story. The author did a great job of bringing this character to life. The narrator's voice is perfect to portray this character. The story is straightforward. Circe speaks plainly about herself & makes no excuses for anything she does. The narrator is easy to listen to & does a great job evoking emotions. It starts off as a very simple narration story but then slowly becomes so full of little details that it is easy to picture yourself as watching a movie. I listened long into the night, I had difficulty shutting it off.

Splendid!!!
Revisado: 01-25-19
I absolutely loved this version of Wonderland. This backstory for how the Queen of Hearts became the way she is, why the King was always referring to her with sweet endearments. Now, it all makes sense & explained with very plausible reasoning. I also loved that we finally understand why Rabbit thought Alice was MaryAnn LOL The narrator did an awesome job with all the characters. I also loved that I could listen to this book with my grandchildren without anything inappropriate being said, being indicated or described. Thank you Marissa Meyer. This should become a classic tome in Wonderland literature.
