Historia
The planet of Kiln is where the tyrannical Mandate keeps its prison colony, and for inmates, the journey there is always a one-way trip. One such prisoner is Professor Arton Daghdev, xeno-ecologist and political dissident. Soon after arrival, he discovers that Kiln has a secret. Humanity is not the first intelligent life to set foot there. In the midst of a ravenous, chaotic ecosystem are the ruins of a civilization, but who were the vanished builders and where did they go?

Alien Clay
Revisado: 03-21-25
Good story about political prisoners and the mechanics of a revolution. A planet with a different type of evolution for life. The head scratcher parts; with the ability to learn everything about everyone the person that betrayed them comes into the fold, which would understand all but for some reason, had to be killed? He would have been a good link to deceive the authorities. The ability to know everything from a distance very quickly was denied to being telekinesis and then said he didn't have a superpower. Everybody they didn't like or in authority had to be killed? Not very Kiln like.

Priest Kings of Gor.
Revisado: 10-05-22
This is the third book in the Gor series. I've heard references to the books of Gor and thought they were a type of porn. I decided to see what is actually in them and I was pleasantly surprised. There is a slavery part of the politics of Gor but the rest of the story is a sci-fi yarn. The third book is clearly a major sci-fi increase over the first two books with actual aliens running the planet Gor and a complex political system that the hero is being groomed to change by some of these aliens.

I suggest this book series to anyone with an interest in science fiction. This series made me think and develop a new view of the soul. Each replicant has the soul of Bob.

For each of the first 17 chapters I kept thinking I was just going to stop listening because it sounded like a Dungeons and Dragons game in space. Then finally in chapter 18 humans showed up again and some plot points finally got filled in and it started to sound more like a space war saga.

Pretty good story. I couldn't help but notice that the evil acts were not described but the reaction of the characters is all we got. Unlike the Reacher books that describe the horrible things, which do disturb me when I still recollect those tortures now. It was a little odd that the heroes wanted to do harm to the rich aliens just because they were rich. All in all a good story.

To Alex, the signs were clear that Armageddon and the Day of Judgment were near.

Job
Revisado: 03-10-22
the first 2/3rds was an interesting puzzle with the two love birds switching dimensions and loosing anything not touching them. Then when the evangelist Catholic guy tried to save his bride with an obvious misunderstanding of Christianity salvation, it got weird.
This was a very fun book until the hero got raptured. There are a bunch of quotes from old and new testament but Heinlein missed the full quote of "not being given or taking in marriage, in heaven... because we will have bodies like an angel." Angela we're all made. No need for genitals so no love making in heaven or eating either. Remember when Jesus told his disciples that he will miss wine, so no drinking either.
God always was and always will be and he created time for us. God is omnipresent. Jesus said he is the ultimate judge because he can see your entire past and future. We can't hide anything from that judge, He sees all.
Job was picked by God because Satan was bragging he could turn anyone away from God. God could see Job would not turn away from him so he wasn't testing Job, he was proving to Satan that he was purely heartless by hammering Job to the very limits that God allowed. God was not playing a mean joke on Job, he was showing Satan that he deserved to be separated from Him.
I did like the dimension puzzle, I just wish he would have had a more science fiction reason than just a mean god.

Revisado: 09-30-21
When these stories were written computers were mainframes that filled a room. This is a story of making a planet Colony of scientists at an extremely far distance from the center of government and how it can survive amongst self promoting local planet governments by using new and improved devices and power plants. Not much humor here but interesting political dialogue during the different times of conflict in the history of the planet Terminus. The TV series is using Foundation as a story backbone while fully developing the characters and adding beautiful scenery along the way.
