Incredible mystery, story from an incredibly gifted author! If you have not read the other books, start at the beginning, each one gets better if that’s possible! The sad thing is now I have to wait until next year and each year I keep saying how is she possibly going to top this and that she does!

Fantastic mystery with Native folklore!

This was a shock to me but I enjoyed it as much as I did! I am a fan of Tony Hillerman, but I must say this mystery and all the cultural and supernatural beliefs of the background coming into the story how did most of what Mr. Hillerman has written it was that good! If you read the first one in the series in order, in my view it’s just OK I gave it a 3 1/2 star review. So it was a complete shock to me when I decided to try the second one and come to become a new dedicated follower of all these books! You will not be disappointed!

And who thought it was a good idea to make us all lives in the beginning of Covid again! That alone was kind of thoughtless! Without that however the story was still bad it went on and on and took for ever! It was easy to figure out who the bad person was and is dragging out of the relationship between Ruth and Nelson is a naturally slow. Perhaps he also thinks she can keep making a little cliffhangers to get more people to buy the next book. This was so bad I’m done with the series don’t waste your money!

The first two were OK but the author was missing something in her writing. This one was finally kicked up a notch and what a mystery such as this should be, I absolutely loved it great improvement truly deserving of four stars! I am looking forward to the next one!
