Historia
Although we think we know the story of the Titanic - the famously unsinkable ship that hit an iceberg on its maiden voyage from Britain to America in April 1912 - little has been written about what happened to the survivors after the tragedy. How did the loss of the ship shape the lives of the people who survived? How did those who were saved feel about those who perished? And how did they remember that terrible night?

A must listen for Titanic History Enthusiasts
Revisado: 12-28-22
An overall interesting listen of the stories of those who survived the Titanic disaster. I hadn't heard such a broad recollection of stories before and found it interesting that this book covered multiple survivors and their stories of both well known survivors and those not so known. My only critique is that at times the narrorator's "voices" of the survivors was a bit distracting. It's worth overlooking to hear their stories!

Thrilling page turner with mind blowing twists!
Revisado: 10-16-22
Wow! There aren't words adequate enough to explain how chilling, twisty, and addicting this book is. The multiple narrators do a great job portraying their characters. The work is chalk full of mind blowing twists that make this book impossible to put down.

Couldn't Stop Listening!!
Revisado: 09-19-22
As someone interested in the dark history surrounding Elizabeth Bathory, this book immediately intrigued me. I'm so glad I gave it a listen! once I started I couldn't stop and finished it in 2 days. It's well written, well read, and a different approach to Bathory. Keep in mind it is largely fictionalized, but never the less an interestingly written story! 5 stars!

Interconnected Tabloid Style Murder Mystery!
Revisado: 09-08-22
This was such a different style listen and I couldn't stop! I enjoyed the interconnectedness of the characters in a way that each of them didn't realize the thin threads holding them--and their secrets-- together. I found myself cheering for and against each character throughout the story. Overall a great listen for a lighter murder-mystery style novel.

Revisado: 08-21-22
I found this book a very interesting listen. It covers so many historical encounters surrounding the Chernobyl disaster, those involved, and the aftermath of the tragedy in a way that educates and paints a vivid picture of how events played out. A very worth while listen or read for those interested in learning more about Chernobyl!

Beautiful. Insightful. Full of Emotions & Rawness
Revisado: 06-24-22
Wow! I am in awe of how completely perfect this story is. Nazemian has truly perfected what it means to tell a coming of age story during a time when there was so much fear to be in love. This story is the story of our history, and is so crucial in helping others empathize and understand how the AIDS epidemic during the 80s specifically, ravished an entire community. While the fear of death from the disease is a theme, the overarching theme of love naturally overthrows the fear in the novel, and it's such a powerful reminder that love in its various forms-- family, friendship, romantic-- can overcome all things and hold people together when things are dark. I laughed, I cried, I felt empathy for the characters. All of the emotions and I loved every minute of it! "Love is our Legacy."- Art.

Beautiful Telling of the Untold Stories
Revisado: 06-03-22
This was such a great listen! I knew very little about life of the emporers of India during this time period, and even less of their wives. The telling of the twentieth wife and Maruneesa's story is beautiful, brave, loving, and strong all at once. her undying love. her strength as a woman during a time when it wasn't acceptable. her smarts. all of it creates the best character and helps the reader understand that time period and life in a Zunana better. beautiful story!

If you are eager to read John and Patsy Ramsey's new release about the mysterious death of their daughter JonBenet, you won't want to miss Perfect Murder, Perfect Town. Schiller creates a portrait of an inscrutable family thrust under the spotlight of public suspicion and an affluent, tranquil city torn apart by a crime it was unprepared to deal with.

Interesting, Thorough, and Heartbreaking!
Revisado: 05-20-22
This is an excellent read for all the true crime fanatics out there. Most people are at least somewhat familiar with the case of Jon Benet Ramsey, but to hear so many facts presented as well as this book does really allows the reader to think critically about the case. it's a quick well-written book with as non-biased of an approach to the case as I have found.

Not bad, not my Favorite
Revisado: 05-10-22
This was a quick listen. While it's more in the young adult mystery/thriller realm, I actually think it would be a great delve into the genre for middle grade readers as well! I may have enjoyed the story better reading it myself than listening. the narrorator was not my favorite and the attempts at differing voices (especially womens...) was quite amateur and just not good. It made the characters seem much more juvenile than they're supposed to be. Great commute read or something between more intense books!

Even Better than the First!
Revisado: 05-04-22
Ok, maybe it's because I'm a mother, but I thought I couldn't love Laura Clery any more than I already did, but I was wrong. Her story is so relatable and I will always cheer for women who are being their unapologetic selves despite struggles. I don't read many "Life stories" because they're typically filled with things that just make me feel like a terrible human being who is totally uninspiring in comparison, but this one just makes me feel very seen in a time it was so needed. Thanks, Laura. You're a true gem!!
