Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly did not expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. my favorite book by far
Revisado: 12-10-21
I can read and listen to this book over and over again and never get tired of it. it's perfect for those who would rather escape the reality of our human responsibilities. for those who don't know, there is a sequel to this book that you can read for free on wattpad. you can also read the first draft of this first book for free over there too. Crystal has a bunch of other books there you might be interested in as well.
the only thing I had a slight issue with was the narration. some parts fell flat on the emotion through the dialog, a few parts have an extra take that wasn't edited out, and it's a little hard to tell when she is switching between dialog since she doesn't change her voice much. other than that, she does have a pleasant voice to listen to.

pretty darn good
Revisado: 08-20-21
Quite liked it. I think it would be really cool if there were a first person shooter game based on this. That would be epic. Another thought I had was how much I liked the main character Reach. He was kinda made into an op kind of person but I think it was done really well as to not make him too op! He definitely isn't a Gary Sue. I'm starting to wonder if Alexa got into my head too to make me like him lol

Historia
Jade has spent her life fighting boredom in the terminally ill ward. Surfing the net or reading, she always envied the ability of others to go out and experience the world. She knew her wish to live a normal life was far beyond her reach, but after waking up one morning without the sounds of her life support, she opens her eyes and finds herself with a weak but healthy body in a magical world.

This was a pain to finish
Revisado: 05-06-21
I love the Isekai genre. My absolute favorite genre to read. But this story was something else.
The main character is a Mary Sue by the very definition of the word. I can't sympathize with her at all because she's too perfect! Every little "challenge" that comes her way is easily taken care of by a magic new ability that she just gained or just because! Every single person she meets loves her instantly, or loves her the very next day after she's worked her "charms" on them. Everything she does has zero consequences! She gets away with everything even if it shouldn't be acceptable! There's only one person in the book that doesn't like her and we hear nothing else of her! There is absolutely no conflict in this story, there is hardly what I'd call a decent plot. The entire book is just Jade going around for a total of 4 days showing off how amazing she is and how much better she is than everyone else. The people in the story only know her for less than a week and they are fawning over her.
The narration was ok. This narrator decided on a raspy voice for Jade and it just doesn't sound good in my opinion. Second, there are a lot of pop culture references in the form of her singing. Some of the singing is done to the correct tunes but then there are the others that I knew that weren't done correctly at all. The ones I remember off the top of my head being a Mulan reference and a Pokémon reference.
I dont recommend this as something to read or listen to. Unless you are actually LOOKING for a self fulfillment story and for some bizarre reason like stories with Mary Sue characters.

Historia
Ensign Andrew Dahl has just been assigned to the Universal Union Capital Ship Intrepid, flagship of the Universal Union since the year 2456. Life couldn’t be better…until Andrew begins to pick up on the facts that (1) every Away Mission involves some kind of lethal confrontation with alien forces; (2) the ship’s captain, its chief science officer, and the handsome Lieutenant Kerensky always survive these confrontations; and (3) at least one low-ranked crew member is, sadly, always killed.

too much said
Revisado: 04-30-21
The story was great, however confusing at times. The only negative thing I have to say about it though is the amount of times "said" is said in this narration. Said is said so many times I end up only focusing on said and not what was said! It was torture to listen through and try to ignore the saids.

Historia
For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

I absolutely love stories that take on a video game type of vibe but this one takes the cake with how it goes about everything with its uniqueness. I especially enjoyed the many MANY references to Legend of Zelda. That was a huge treat XD

Unsatisfying ending
Revisado: 08-21-19
The story as a whole was interesting but the ending left me very unsatisfied. For all the effort I put into finishing this book, a better ending would have been more fulfilling.

Historia
NASA discovered the alien ship lurking in the asteroid belt in the 1960's. They kept the Target under intense surveillance for decades, letting the public believe they were exploring the solar system, while they worked feverishly to refine the technology needed to reach it. Dr. Jane Holloway is content documenting nearly-extinct languages and had never contemplated becoming an astronaut. But when NASA recruits her to join a team of military scientists for an expedition to the Target, it's an adventure she can't refuse.

I've read better
Revisado: 08-09-19
As someone who doesn't like romance, it was ok. I've read a book relatively similar to this one called A Starship Called Starsong by Crystal Scherer which I think is a thousand time better when it comes to action and adventure. I dont remember it having any romance but it was fantastic.
