I forgot what a Classic King book this is!
Revisado: 02-26-19
Narration top-notch; a good book to listen to while on a road trip or painting your kitchen....This early King book brings up the questions of due process and individual rights versus government rights. Ignore the dates; this tale stands out as a King Classic. Charlie is one of my favorite King characters. Despite a few f-bombs, this might be a good listen for middle school advanced English students. Enjoy!♡

Historia
This is the story of Corlath, golden-eyed king of the Free Hillfolk, son of the sons of the Lady Aerin. And this is the story of Harry Crewe, the Homelander orphan girl who became Harimand-sol, King’s Raider, and heir to the Blue Sword, Gonturan, that no woman had wielded since Lady Aerin herself bore it into battle. And this is the song of the kelar of the Hillfolk, the magic of the blood, the weaver of destinies …

A wonderful take-me away Fantasy! Newbery Honor...
Revisado: 07-02-18
Ms. McKinley won a Newbery Honor Medal for this great book. It is a bit more than a children's book; I would rate it as "teen ".
Narrator is pretty good... Not much to complain about here. The story is Timeless, and "The Hero and the Crown" follows as a prequel that did win the Newbery!
If you have not read these two books, I am jealous! I am over 50, and just listened to both books again. Enjoy!♡

This Newbery Award Winner is Timeless...
Revisado: 06-30-18
This has long been my favorite book. The story is Timeless. Robin McKinley deserved her award. You will enjoy this book no matter your age. I love the fact that the hero is a heroine!

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Terrificly Wonderful and Nerdily Spectacular!!!
Revisado: 03-20-16
If you loved the movie, as I did, you'll enjoy the novel that inspired it as well. I found it lovely to bask in all the delicious, sapce-y nuts and bolts of the novel . On Audible, it is a aural treat, and this is an award'winning performance to boot. This could be s great book to listen to on a long drive, fishing on vacation, or you enjoy on a rainy weekend. I would say that any true geek would find it fine. and that goes for middle and high school science nerds as well. Five stars for the future of the Space Program!!!
