Historia
The author of I Used to Be a Miserable F*ck, The Angry Therapist, now teaches you how to prioritize your relationship with yourself and live a more meaningful life, whether you’re alone, dating, or with a partner. Single. On Purpose. is for people who have never been involved, people who have jumped from partner to partner, and those who have lost themselves in their current relationship - anyone who needs to learn that there’s more to life than who we choose to love.

Honest & practical
Revisado: 09-09-24
This book was just what I needed at this point in time. Since the author is a therapist and was radically transparent about his own journey it illuminated the steps & approach to navigating singleness and getting reacquainted with self in a refreshing way.

Historia
Today Tariq Trotter—better known as Black Thought—is the platinum-selling, Grammy-winning co-founder of The Roots and one of the most exhilaratingly skillful and profound rappers our culture has ever produced. But his story begins with a tragedy: as a child, Trotter burned down his family’s home. The years that follow are the story of a life snatched from the flames, forged in fire.

Big fan of the artist - now bigger fan of the person

What a beautifully transparent memoir closing the full range of emotions experience and trauma that becomes art. I didn’t know what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Historia
Before Talib Kweli became a world-renowned hip hop artist, he was a Brooklyn kid who liked to cut class, spit rhymes, and wander the streets of Greenwich Village with a motley crew of artists, rappers, and DJs who found hip hop more inspiring than their textbooks (much to the chagrin of the educator parents who had given their son an Afrocentric name in hope of securing for him a more traditional sense of pride and purpose).

Beautiful artistry in telling the story about his upbringing, how that shaped his journey as an artist and how that has evolved and his activism has taken root. As a huge fan of Talib Kweli’s catalog this was a gem.
