bizarre and compelling

Mr. Cole went into bizarre territory here, and pulled it off winningly. Gallows humor, multiple references to both current events and some of our favorite epic action stories are all rolled into this sci-fi military thriller. If you are even a casual fan of the Galaxy's Edge series, this is a must listen from one of the authors. Narrator shows great range with character voices, and allows you to focus on the characters and story without distracting. Highly recommended.

Excellent fourth book of Sam and Birgit's travels

Read by the author, this fourth book covers the next chapter in Sam and Birgit's travels and was just as fantastic as the other three. Their coverage of my area of Northern California was a joy to listen to and from the bike rally at Lakeport, to the border of Oregon, I was enthralled and happy to hear their take on roads I've traveled as well.

a continuation of Sam's amazing journey around the planet filled with detailed vignettes of characters met along the way, lessons in overlanding, and some tight scrapes for suspense factor. If you long to travel, and love motorcycles, or just want to ride pillion vicariously along, this is a great story. Having Sam read it is just icing on the cake. Looking forward to the next one!

Ted Simon's reprise and revisiting places along his 1973 journey is both lovingly nostalgic and tinted with sorrow at the changes in both himself and the world at large. His personal experiences are once again documented with journalistic reality as well as deep insight and at times abstract vignettes of what goes on in the mind of a solo traveler conspire to pull you in and keep you listening. Rupert's narration is once again amazing, with Ted refering to him as a "reincarnation" of him as his younger self in the first book, and his use of accents and vocal acting bring each individual in the story to life. From Auzzies, to South African, to East Indian, etc. he portrays every accent perfectly, adding a layer of reality and a geniune feel for being 'out there' with Ted. Utterly brilliant.

The narration was fantastic- as Ted says in the foreword it is him reincarnated. Accents and great vocal acting render the folks met in Ted's travels in three dimensions. Looking forward to the next book!

They talked a bit fast sometimes, but that is their style. I'd rather hear them narrate than someone else. I also got to hear family members narrate too. I haven't even really watched their show, but am a big fan now!
