Too Many Things Going on in One Book!

I love this series but this book was so overwhelmed with plots, schemes and too many characters. Everyone’s destiny crossed paths with someone else’s and every character seemed supreme in one way or another that it overshadowed the two main characters. It was so overwhelming that it had me wondering if I should start back at book one to grasp it all.

IT TOOK LONGER TO READ THAN IT SHOULD HAVE

This book was all over the place. I would go back to listen to chapters over and over because I always felt I was missing something. It’s way too many things going on and the plot is messy. Being the curious person I am the cliffhanger does entice me to want to read the second book but I didn’t enjoy the experience. By doing so would make me feel committed and invested in the series and I hate starting something and not finishing. So to make a clean break, I will not be reading any other books in the series.

This is the best book of the series so far!!!

In the Dark Hunter series Sherrilyn Kenyon stories seemed to me to follow a generic pattern when it came to the main characters. Their backgrounds and faults seemed to mirror each other. I was presently surprised with the flow of the story because although the generic pattern was still present I was really impressed with the twists added to the story that made it more interesting and exciting! I was ready for something different because I love the series but I was getting a little disappointed about the predictability of

J R Ward and Jim Frangione??? What Could Go Wrong!!!

Classic J R Ward! I love her stories and grieve every time one ends! I just wish the stories would go on and on and on NEVER ending and never having to wait for the next masterpiece!
J R Ward is one of THE best authors!

Horrible!!! Horrible!!! Horrible!!!

First off the narrator was awful! I kept listening waiting for the plot to reveal itself and it never came! I've listened to a lot of books and I tell you this is the worst book I've ever read! It lacked background and explanation of actions. The love triangle it created was strange to say the least. It made the character seem like a strumpet! And worst of all it ended like a cliffhanger! Every series book I've read has had a tidy ending with a smooth transition to the following book or plot. This book did not!

It Was Very Good Book

I liked how the book did a recap without being overwhelming. The author did a good job throughout. Kalen's involvement was minimal and I was surprised by that. I thought he would have had a bigger role but it was not disappointing. And yes I would recommend this book along with the other books in the series.

Good Story Overall but Background was not Strong

The book was good and Tavia Gilbert is always good. But I didn't like the patchy job with the explanation and description of the super natural powers. And think there wasn't a strong background for how the characters came to be. Overall the story was good. I would definitely recommend this book to someone and I would let the reader decide what to think about it. I especially LOVED the ending!!!!

Painful but Good

The plot was painfully slow but good. I really don't care for the magic out of the closet/bag books. I like books about secret magic and supernaturals living among unsuspecting humans.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

It's hard to say. I would maybe recommend as a hardcover read but not in audio format. If I recommended this book I would encourage a friend to start at the beginning of the series.

If you’ve listened to books by Christine Feehan before, how does this one compare?

It does not compare to any of the previous Dark Series books. The storyline was shaky and the wording she used didn't seem like her usual style of writing. Phil Gigante was an excellent narrator and Robert Sarkus's narration seems suitable for children's books but not this genre.

What didn’t you like about Robert Sarkus’s performance?

I didn't like his pronunciation of some of the wording. His voice wasn't smoky or sensual. I know very little about the Romanian dialect but I know for certain his mispronounced some of the terminology.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No it was not.
