Historia
It’s Bastille Day in France, and the private French space agency Galactus - France’s answer to Space X, owned by the eccentric treasure hunter Jean-Pierre Broussard - has just sent a satellite payload into orbit. Billed as a “communications” satellite, it harbors a frightening reality: a nuclear electromagnetic pulse has been hidden aboard. In days, when the satellite is in position, Galactus’s head and Broussard’s second in command, Dr. Neveah Patil, will have the power to lay waste to the world with her EMP, and create her own immortality with the Holy Grail.

Exciting and bittersweet
Revisado: 07-08-24
Overall solid storytelling and great characters both those that have been in the series as well as new characters. While I enjoy Coukter’s FBI thriller series, I find the writing of this series to be a step above. I find this book to be bittersweet as after reading it I found out there are no more stories expected in this series and I found this extremely wanting in terms of an end of series book.

Solid and engaging story
Revisado: 07-08-24
Overall the storytelling was engaging and kept me captured and guessing and while I guessed some of it there were still some surprises in the end. The only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars is Coulter’s ongoing habit of inconsistencies. If reading as a stand alone without reading any other books in the series it would likely be a a 5 star rating. However in book 18, Power Play, the story refers to a pregnant Joanna (along with her family) going away to hide from Blessed Backman. However in this book there is no mention of another child except for Autumn (unless I somehow missed it). Given Coulter’s penchant for giving excruciating background each time it seems odd there is no mention of the 2nd child or whether there was a lost pregnancy. This does not detract from the story, but is an irritation (at least for me).

Unrealistic premise
Revisado: 06-30-24
The delivery of the story was hard to get through. Very staccato/clipped. Almost like someone was reading from a report the whole time. Also the premise with the sex drug was unrealistic and the “romance” between the main characters seemed more contrived than usual for this kind of storyline.

Child abduction revenge
Revisado: 06-30-24
There were parts of the story I couldn’t get into. The romance didn’t really seem to be there. It was difficult for me to understand whether Ramsey had any feelings for Molly. He just seemed to want to keep Emma in his life. That detracted from the overall story for me.

Good summer book
Revisado: 06-29-24
Liked the overall premise of the story but found some of the writing to be repetitive and in certain cases inconsistent. Overall liked the characters. Having read other books in the series wish these characters had shown up more.
