Hilariously horrifying!

Omg I loved this book so much! The narration is amazing! And I'm absolutely obsessed with Mihah's character. All of the characters were really well developed, and I thought the storyline was very intriguing from the very beginning. I really liked the sci-fi aspects that come in towards the end of the book. I'm also so so happy that this was a standalone story! It sounds like it could be expanded in the future and may connect to another story, but the main plot line does get resolved. Mihah absolutely cracked me up, and I legitimately laughed out loud on multiple occasions. There are instances of severe PTSD which could be triggering for some readers/listeners, and this is definitely in the gory-horror category!

The first chapter is really long and a bit slow, but once you get past that, the story is really cute. There were several moments that made me laugh out loud, along with a few fairly serious bits.

Heartbreakingly beautiful!

I loved this story so much! The narration was amazing, she really made you feel the words of the story. My only complaint with the audio is that all the male voices sounded the same so it was a little confusing to listen to at times, but I realize it's very difficult for one narrator to sound like different characters, so my rating is really 4.5 starts for performance. Although this is fiction, the details and the events are so believable. You can really tell how much research the author put in to writing the story. You really feel like you're experiencing the events along with Audrey, and I think it gives you a great sense of what it would have been like during WW2. The always being afraid that the next bomb would fall on you, and not knowing which of your friends/loved ones wouldn't make it back the next day. And the sense of pride in being able and willing to help in any way that you can. This story is heartbreakingly beautiful, and while it is a romance, you should definitely not go into it light-hearted.

I loved it so much!! I just wish there was more! I could listen to Alice telling crazy stories all day! I also really love how this "Words + Music" series incorporates the artists music in with their narration. It add so much more to the audio. ❤❤
