Author ruined his series with a boring Girl Boss

I wish this had been a side quest

I enjoyed it for the most part. I found Kate to be annoying for some parts and good in others, I like the idea of he abilities, but I kind of wished it was implemented slightly differnt. If it was just a side quest, I think I could have enjoyed playing with her abilities without the reveals that drove the main story. I think as if we followed Kate and did the setup just something like say Dom's story or even a side arc like Fynn's would have been better, but as was stated that might have been dry and not work so well. I don't know it felt just a bit off from what we had gotten before. for sure, I look forward to the next one. On a final note, I did find that it seemed more political than the others. I personally found some of it forced and distracting from the story at times, but I didn't have to take breaks from the book either.

To be honest I wasnt sure the The Beating of His Wings needed a follow up. Sure it wasnt the best ending ever written, but I felt enough closure to be satisfied. So going into this one made me wonder if it would taint the previous books for me. I am pleased to say that it delived a wonderful story. Some of the choices made to the story are disappointing, but I enjoyed every minute of listening time. I was enthralled with the story begging to end, and would recommend to anyone.
