Historia
Returning to her childhood home, Lady Kiera Darby hopes her beloved brother Trevor and the merriment of the Hogmanay Ball will distract her. But when a caretaker is murdered and a grave is disturbed at nearby Dryburgh Abbey, Kiera is once more thrust into the cold grasp of death. While Kiera knows that aiding in another inquiry will only further tarnish her reputation, her knowledge of anatomy could make the difference in solving the case.

Historia
The fighting has ended, the Armistice signed, but the war has left wounds that are still agonizingly raw. Battlefield Nurse Bess Crawford has been assigned to a clinic for amputees, and the Welsh patients worry her. She does her best to help them, but it’s clear that they have nothing to go home to, in a valley where only the fit can work in the coal pits. When they are released, she fears that peace will do what war couldn’t - take their lives.

Historia
Jesse King doesn't want to go west, but her husband has never been all that concerned with what his wife wants. When tragedy strikes, Jesse is rescued by the Lakota Sioux, among whom she finds unexpected peace, a sense of belonging, and the love of a lifetime. A compelling tale of one woman's extraordinary faith as God leads her from prairie schooner to tepee, from tepee to frontier fort, and on to a growing state capitol.

I loved this book many years ago when I read it and I love it even more now that I’ve listened to it.
It is a story of faith, love and forgiveness written so beautifully and based on historical facts.
I would highly recommend the book. It is a great reminder to keep ones faith even through the toughest of times God is there!

Not my favorite Kristin Hannah book
Revisado: 02-16-18
There are wonderful parts of this book. The characters were great but it bogged down in tragic event after tragic event especially concerning Lenora’s parents —it became difficult to listen at times wondering what awful thing is going to happen next with them . The book would be so much better if those parts were lessened—the anger and hate needed to be there but not so much of it! The reader is very good!

Historia
To Christina Olson, the entire world was her family's remote farm in the small coastal town of Cushing, Maine. Born in the home her family had lived in for generations, and increasingly incapacitated by illness, Christina seemed destined for a small life. Instead, for more than 20 years, she was host to and inspiration for the artist Andrew Wyeth and became the subject of one of the best known American paintings of the 20th century.

Excellent book--would recommend!
Revisado: 07-22-15
It is a powerful story of the human spirit--resilient, adaptable, forgiving in the face of extreme cruelty and selfishness. It is both sad and joyful--I wept, smiled and hoped as I read. I would recommend this book to my family and friends--well written and the reader is excellent.
