Good story
Revisado: 08-28-15
Where does 10% Happier rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's a good listen, but not great. Dan Harris' story is interesting, but not totally relate able in a lot of ways. It isn't the route that most folks who suffer from anxiety go. The everyday stuff is helpful to a point, but I am not going to head off on week long meditation trips and eat rice. So, good story but won't jive completely with the average sufferer.
What did you like best about this story?
I like the way Dan Harris calls out Deepak Chopra for being a fame hound. He tells it like it is.
What does Dan Harris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Dan's reading is like that of a newscaster. I don't think I got anymore out of the book listening to it that I would have got from reading.

Historia
At the heart of The Good Son is the most important relationship in JFK, Jr.'s life: that with his mother, the beautiful and mysterious Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Andersen explores his reactions to his mother's post-Dallas suicidal depression and growing dependence on prescription drugs (as well as men); how Jackie felt about the women in her son's life, from Madonna and Sarah Jessica Parker, to Daryl Hannah and Carolyn Bessette, to his turbulent marriage.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it is a good tabloid story for Kennedy fans and Robertson Dean is wonderful
What about Robertson Dean’s performance did you like?
His delivery was spot on. Great pacing, great consistency in Jackie's voice and he didn't overdo it by trying to hard on the females. Great sound quality, good editing.

Plus, it features exclusive bonus audio of young Neil delivering an adorable speech! That’s audio you won’t hear in any version of this book other than the audiobook!

Fantastically adapted for audio and hysterical
Revisado: 04-07-15
What made the experience of listening to Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography the most enjoyable?
NPH steals the show with his narration for this. It is the greatest thing about this book. His commentary and realism in the reading is refreshing and natural. This is a great one to get someone started on audiobooks.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography?
NPH describing the way he navigated through finding his own sexuality was the best part. It was real, not neat and tidy and never fell into one category or the other. It is representative of a lot of folks struggles of not 'knowing at birth' where on the spectrum they fall.
What does Neil Patrick Harris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He brings EVERYTHING.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh mostly, but also has some more tender moments that make you feel like you are experiencing what he went through. I didn't cry, I was empathetic.

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It is a great mood booster.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?
I like that Tina talked about being a mother and raising her daughter but didn't do it in the usual 'I am no longer the person I was and my whole life revolves around children now and I think they are so wonderful and there are no ugly babies ever" way.
Have you listened to any of Tina Fey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have always been a fan of Tina Fey. This made me admire her even more. She appeals to all kinds of audiences.
Any additional comments?
I was quite surprised that Hachette let 6 glaring errors slip in this book (winner of Audiobook of the Year Audie award), 4 of which are repeated sentences of audio and all rather close together. By no means did it make me put the book down or stop listening. But for a company that is known for holding themselves to such high standards, quite a miss.
