Historia
We face a potent intersection of crises: ecological destruction, rising inequality, racial injustice, and the lasting impacts of a devastating pandemic. The situation is beyond urgent. To face these challenges, we need to find ways to strengthen our clarity, compassion, and courage to act. Beloved Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh is blazingly clear: There’s one thing we all have the power to change, which can make all the difference, and that is our mind.

Eduardo Ballerini

Eduardo Ballerini should RE-narrate all of Thich Nhat Hang’s books. He gives him the best voice. The content was certainly good as with his other books. This is probably my second favorite behind “The Art Of Living”

Solid book
Revisado: 09-16-16
What made the experience of listening to The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich (Expanded and Updated) the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed hearing good ideas for improving my lifestyle. I enjoyed having someone open my eyes to the "differed life" concept. I'm so used to hearing the concept of work hard now, save for retirement. This was a refreshing change to that.
What did you like best about this story?
The idea of the 80/20 principle, the idea of working less, the idea of mini retirements, of not deferring life to when I'm old.
Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No but the narration was very good.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Wanted to, sure. I never listen to a book in one sitting though.
Any additional comments?
I look forward to more books by this author. He has a good site/blog that goes along with this book.

When Freakonomics was initially published, the authors started a blog - and they've kept it up. The writing is more casual, more personal, even more outlandish than in their books.

The new narrators in this book are terrible. Their other books rock but this one is a stinker.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Hell yeah!

This was a great story. The beginning is slow and there's probably a little overkill on his statistics in regards to running. However, if you can make it past that you're in for a good story.

Historia
For much of his life, historian Howard Zinn chronicled American history from the bottom up, throwing out the official version taught in schools - with its emphasis on great men in high places - to focus on the street, the home, and the workplace. Known for its lively, clear prose as well as its scholarly research, A People's History of the United States is the only volume to tell America's story from the point of view of - and in the words of - America's women, factory workers, African-Americans, Native Americans, the working poor, and immigrant laborers.

Fascinatin @ 1st but becomes an epic of pity & victimhood
Revisado: 11-07-14
Would you try another book from Howard Zinn and/or Jeff Zinn?
Yes.
Would you be willing to try another book from Howard Zinn? Why or why not?
Yes
What does Jeff Zinn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Emotion?
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No
Any additional comments?
A lot of people have been victimized for a long time. If you want to hear all about it, listen to this. It's quite good at telling that story. If you want to hear more about US history than that side of the story, look elsewhere.
