Historia
To most townsfolk, he's known simply as The Beast. Annabelle Beiler has little interest in gossip, but she's heard about Adam Herschberger's scars and his gruff, solitary ways. Though he sounds like a character from one of Belle's treasured books, the man is real and, it turns out, just as unreasonable as the rumors claim. When a buggy accident wipes out the last of her daed's money, forcing him to sell their farm, Adam buys it. Then he offers Belle a deal - marry him, and her family can keep their home.

Overall a cute story with a little bit of suspense thrown in. I enjoy fairytale retellings and this one was fairly good.

Historia
Bruce Lee is a cultural icon, renowned the world over for his martial arts and film legacy. But Lee was also a deeply philosophical thinker, learning at an early age that martial arts are more than just an exercise in physical discipline - they are an apt metaphor for living a fully realized life. Now, in Be Water, My Friend, Lee’s daughter, Shannon, shares the concepts at the core of his philosophies, showing how they can serve as tools of personal growth and self-actualization.

Historia
In this Audible Exclusive performance by Matt Lucas of Great Expectations, Charles Dickens demonstrates that conscience, loyalty and empathy are virtues far more valuable than intellect, wealth and social standing. First published in Dickens’ own periodical, All the Year Round, the novel was divided into nine monthly instalments, from December 1860 to August 1861. Unsurprisingly, it was an instant success and managed to sell over 100,000 copies per week. Though written at a challenging time in Dickens’ life, when the impending breakdown of his marriage loomed over him, Great Expectations proves to be one of his most optimistic, comical and romantic novels.

Very Lengthy
Revisado: 01-21-23
The story is long and filled with unnecessary dialogue but nevertheless it is a classic. The voice acting is on point and differs for each character which makes it easier to tell them all apart. Worth listening to if you’ve never read Great Expectations before.

Historia
For 170 years, Edward Fairfax Rochester has stood as one of literature's most complex and captivating romantic heroes. Sometimes cruel, sometimes tender, Jane Eyre's mercurial master at Thornfield Hall has mesmerized, beguiled, and, yes, baffled fans of Charlotte Brontë's masterpiece for generations. But his own story has never been told.

Mental Illness Warning
Revisado: 07-19-22
If you want to know Mr. Rochester’s origin and backstory then this is the book for you. I will say the depictions of Bertha going mad should come with a warning, it’s very unpleasant and may be a trigger for those sensitive to mental health issues. Also there’s some language in the book I found unpleasant as well. This novel made me dislike Mr. Rochester and from the outside looking in he’s selfish, uncouth and plays mind games with Jane. I’m being generous with the four stars, overall the story was very well written and shows Rochester as the man one would think him to be from his side of the story. The best part of the book is the last ten minutes or so. The author wrote the book well though.

Vintage coming of age
Revisado: 12-18-21
I read this book back in high school and now at 29 years old I still enjoy the book. A coming of age story for young Will Tweedy in the early 1900s. I’m southern born & raised and if you’re from the south you could appreciate this book even more for that.

Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.
