OMG y’all. Not only are Susanna and Caroline comedic geniuses, but Jake and Bridget Bordeaux really made this novella come alive, even with the credits. I was not expecting Bridget to read the intro and credits in Geraldine’s southern accent, but it honestly made the whole experience come alive.

I love Geraldine and Max. They don’t make sense at all, but I adore how Max wants her anyway. I love that they’re passionate together and for each other. It’s like the ultimate enemies to lovers couple, and I cannot wait to finish the series just so I can get more of them (just finished Cursed Fates).

Run, don’t walk to listen to this audiobook! 1000000/10 recommend, and I’m saying this as a listener who needs her epic fantasies long and complex. This is a great addition to the Zodiac Academy series!

Oh my gosh! What an incredible debut from L.B. August! The world building and lore is beautifully crafted (and I’m still sorting out puzzles that I know will get solved). The characters are so well rounded. Lily is of the best feisty badasses I’ve read recently. I love her relationships with Theo, Nyx, and Juniper. I can’t wait for the sequel!

Theo and Madi out did themselves with their performances, and I’m officially spoiled for duet narration. Little things, like explosive laughter were just as impressive as were the full emotional moments. I will forever listen to anything they narrate.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and buy the audiobook. It’s one of the best I’ve listened to all year.

Wow, wow, wow! What a beautifully written heartfelt book! Inara Gage put her heart and soul into this debut, and it's evident in the way it's written with her unique characters. The world building is fascinating. The MMC is swoonworthy and Sayah, the MFC is vulnerable, fearless, and fiesty. Narrated by Jacci Prior and Gabriel Micheal, this duet audiobook is top of the notch quality listening. I can't recommend it enough!

What a fun and refreshing rom com! Pride, Pancakes, and Paris is a surprising combo of enemies-to-lovers with best friend/older brother, fake dating, AND one bed. To be honest, I wasn’t sure Saywer and Georgia were going to get past the enemies bit of their relationship, but Emmie effectively navigates the changes of their relationship through witty banter, our two MMC’s offering each other kindness, and sizzling chemistry. Even as Georgia and Sawyer were falling for each other, I loved that they learned respect and genuinely became friends in Paris. I loved how relatable the characters were. Saywer is swoon worthy as a book boyfriend (he’s a chef, come on!) and Georgia’s wicked sense of humor and empathy totally make me want to hang out with her. The book ends with a HEA but doesn’t feel over done, and while I was worried there would be a third act break up, it didn’t actually happen. I thought Emmie did a tremendous job with creating realistic conflict.

I loved the narrators for the audiobook. Both Andria and Josh did such a wonderful job portraying the range of emotions the characters experience. I laughed out loud with Andria’s ability to deliver Georgia’s humor and really felt the vulnerability Sawyer felt with Josh's performance, both as his relationship with Georgia changed and as he struggles at the end in the hospital. *chef’s kiss* And the flirting. My god, that was absolutely fabulous! I will happily read anything Andria and Josh narrate in the future.

A Modern Day Persuasion

Hopeful is a story about constancy, devotion, and a long burning love. It's a slow paced story about two people who never stopped loving each other even after they have a hellish breakup and a seemingly deep betrayal. As a deep devotee to Jane Austen's Persuasion, I instantly saw the parallels of the two stories and instantly loved Hopeful for that reason. I’ve never read a modern story that recreates the anticipation, loyalty, and deep love that’s found in Persuasion. That being said, Hopeful stands on its own as a great love story. Discovering Hopeful was almost an accident, but I'm so glad I was reading through Louise Bay's collection to find it.

Hopeful has many parallels to Persuasion, and it's done tastefully. The overarching story of Joel and Ava follow Anne Elliot and Frederick Wentworth's story, but Louise Bay fleshes out Joel and Ava's story with a modern setting with steamy details missed in Persuasion. The story is familiar because of Persuasion, but it's also familiar because of the modern day setting with college life, lots of wine, and deep friendships that are both exasperating and loyal at the same time. The deep friendships of Ava's chosen family is one of the best components to the story, and I enjoyed seeing Ava find joy in spending time with her friends as much as I loved seeing her reconnect with Joel.

This story is not for the reader expecting a hot and steamy romance that's fast and furious. The happy ending comes after eight years of conflict, betrayal, anticipation, and devotion. Watching Ava and Joel fall in love from the "Past" chapters is joyous and charming; watching Ava and Joel reunite in the "present" chapters is difficult and at times heartbreaking, but it's a happy ending worth experiencing. To the devoted Persuasion fan, Hopeful is a lovely retelling in a modern day setting. Hopeful is amongst my favorite Louise Bay stories, including the Mister series.

Wonderful conclusion to the Warrior Bard Series

I have always enjoyed Juliet Mariller’s series, starting with Sevenwaters. This story is the conclusion of the bard warriors series, which could be considered a sequel series to the Blackthorn and Grim series. The story follows the spirit of the series, following “A Harp of Kings” and “A Dance of Fate”. There are some ties or stories that could close tighter, but overall, I’m impressed with the sense of conclusion, the happiness for particular characters and their endings, and the long term conflict concludes. Lovely story following the nature of Marillier’s story telling. I hope there will be a new story following Dau’s and Liobahn’s story some time in the future. I will always want to know more! ♥️

Robbie is the best!

I don’t write reviews that often. I share my love of books usually in person, the old-fashioned way, by word of mouth. This book, and this series, “The Trials of Apollo” are really some of Rick Riordan’s best written work. I was an emotional mess by the end, and now I have to endure the cliff hanger of what happens next for Apollo. The story itself is engaging in a way that’s refreshing. Apollo has grown, has much more to do, but is starting to gain wisdom in a way that I think is admirable. It’s worth the journey!

I really came here to say Robbie Daymond’s interpretation of the stories, his understanding of the characters, and how he narrates the series really makes it that more enjoyable. He’s my favorite narrator for all of the Riordan series.

I can’t say enough about what I love! If there’s a question of the narrator, he’s up there with Davina Porter amongst my favorites!
