Historia
When an eccentric Englishman named Phileas Fogg makes a daring wager that he can circle the globe in just eighty days, it’s the beginning of a breathlessly-paced world tour. With his devoted servant Passepartout at his side, Fogg sets off on an adventurous journey filled with amazing encounters and wild mishaps. Pursued all the way by the bumbling Detective Fix, who believes the two travelers are bank robbers on the run, Fogg and Passepartout must use every means of transportation known to 19th-century man - including a hot-air balloon, a locomotive, and an elephant - to win the bet.

Historia
Cats have been popular household pets for thousands of years, and their numbers only continue to rise. Today there are three cats for every dog on the planet, and yet cats remain more mysterious, even to their most adoring owners. In Cat Sense, renowned anthrozoologist John Bradshaw takes us further into the mind of the domestic cat than ever before, using cutting-edge scientific research to explain the true nature - and needs - of our feline friends. Tracing the cat’s evolution from solitary hunter to domesticated companion, Bradshaw shows that cats remain independent, predatory, and wary of social contact.

Not Cat Sense
Revisado: 12-02-21
The tittle is misleading. It goes over more catngenetics and evolution of the specie than abaout behaviour and habits of a domestic cat which is what most listeners were insterestwd about when purchasing this book. I agree with other reviewera that out of the 11+hrs, porbably 1-2 hrs were about cat behaviour and our understanding of them so we can be better cats parents.

Best-selling author, psychologist, and world-renowned expert on dog behavior and training Dr. Stanley Coren presents the most informative, in-depth, fascinating book yet on dogs. Acclaimed for its solid scientific research and entertaining, eminently accessible style, How Dogs Think gives you the insight that you need to understand the silly, quirky, and apparently irrational behaviors that dogs demonstrate, as well as those stunning flashes of brilliance and creativity that they also can display.

Agree with some things, disagree with some
Revisado: 05-27-21
I liked the part that explained issues that dogs might experience as they age. I lost a beloved dog two years ago who lived to 19 years old, but the last 7 months of his life were very difficult for everyone. My experience with veterinarian doctors is that they are very vague in diagnosis so one is left wondering why one’s dog is behaving or doing certain things. I have an issue with using dogs or any type of animal as test subjects. I know that we have learned a lot, but there are knowledge that can be erroneous, too. In the 21st century, there should be no more animal testings and if we are to study any species behavior, etc, it should be done in the most ethical and empathic way. As I listened to this book, I kept on thinking: What we can’t prove does not make it untrue. This universe is too big for the tiny human being.

Interesting creation of “Ms. Holmes”
Revisado: 05-13-21
The first book in a series. It took 6 hours of reading, out of about 10 hrs before the story started some actual sleuthing. The author took that first half to introduce the characters, background, etc. Once that was done, the book was interesting. I almost gave up on it because the intro was sooo boring. So, if you want to try this book, have patience. I will try the second book when I get my next credit.

Historia
“You shouldn’t be here. It’s too late....” These, heard over the phone, were the last recorded words of successful celebrity-divorce lawyer Richard Pryce, found bludgeoned to death in his bachelor pad with a bottle of wine - a 1982 Chateau Lafite worth £3,000, to be precise. Odd, considering he didn’t drink. Why this bottle? And why those words? And why was a three-digit number painted on the wall by the killer? And, most importantly, which of the man’s many, many enemies did the deed?

First time ever I was able to guess right!!!
Revisado: 02-06-20
This is an excellent book! I was able to guess the responsible for the murder first time ever!!! And I have read all the classics like Moonstone, Holmes and Agatha, and the new ones like Royal Spyness, Maeve Kerrigan and many other detective novels. Mr Horowitz is a great writer; very original ideas and format for this series. I hope he continues with this and does not mean it seriously to stop with this book 2.

Breathless and painstakingly researched, this is a stunning debut mystery in which Sherlock Holmes unmasks Jack the Ripper. Lyndsay Faye perfectly captures all the color and syntax of Conan Doyle’s distinctive nineteenth-century London.

Historia
LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

A dog person’s book, absolutely!
Revisado: 12-01-17
Love it! Got my eyes wet right at the beginning of the book with Maggie and Pete’s story. Execellent narration and story development. The story flowed so well I didnt notice I was 3 hour into it until I looked at the clock! This is a first since I have started listening to audio books. I confess that, for me, the most important part was to know what would happen to Maggie at the end of the story. And I am happy with the end. I agree that this pair would make for an excellent book series.

London police detective Maeve Kerrigan has spent plenty of time at Murchison House. One of the many cement high-rise towers comprising the Maudling Estate housing project, Murchison House is home to a motley mix of society.
