Historia
In Jimmy Buffett: A Good Life All the Way, acclaimed music critic Ryan White has crafted the first definitive account of Buffett's rise from singing songs for beer to his emergence as a tropical icon and CEO behind the Margaritaville industrial complex, a vast network of merchandise, chain restaurants, resorts, and lifestyle products all inspired by his sunny but disillusioned hit "Margaritaville".

Some Great True Stories of the Life of Jimmy B.
Revisado: 12-06-21
Ryan White's book on Jimmy Buffett life and times is the real deal. I know this because I have been part or close to a few of the people and stories Ryan writes about. You'll love how comprehensive this book cover's over sixty years of Jimmy's life and career.

Historia
Insane Mode started off as a feature on the dual-motor Tesla Model S, which gave the car Ferrari-like acceleration, but it's also the perfect description of the operating style of a company that has sworn it won't rest until every car on the road is electric. Here is a story about the very best kind of American ingenuity and its history-making potential.

Deceptive Title Leads to Disappointing Book
Revisado: 11-29-18
I know the author Hamish McKenzie put a lot of work into this new book because the amount of details it contains on the topic of electric powered vehicles world-wide. What this book is not by any means is the story of Tesla or the Model 3's manufacturing challenges, which the title ... Insane Mode is referencing to capitalize on a story many people who follow, own and admire Tesla's efforts would love to hear.
Several times during listing to this book I wanted to return it. First because of feeling mislead by the title, second, because I was learning very little that is not already published about Electric Vehicles in the public domain. and thirdly, It more a story of one persons' journey through meetings and/or thoughts about the key players in the current quest to build and sell the best electric and autonomous car. I am not saying don't purchase this book as much as I think potential listeners need to be forewarned not to judge this book by its title and cover.

Historia
When painter Winslow Homer first sailed into the Gulf of Mexico, he was struck by its "special kind of providence." Indeed, the Gulf presented itself as America's sea - bound by geography, culture, and tradition to the national experience - and yet, there has never been a comprehensive history of the Gulf until now. And so, in this rich and original work that explores the Gulf through our human connection with the sea, environmental historian Jack E. Davis finally places this exceptional region into the American mythos in a sweeping history that extends from the Pleistocene age to the 21st century.

Like Getting a Master's Degree in the Gulf
Revisado: 06-14-18
Living at the beaches of Tampa Bay this book was really important for me to read. I loved it and will probably listen to it again in a year or two. Jack Davis has written the equivalent of getting a Master's Degree in the Gulf of Mexico. The Book is impressive in so many different dimensions including the Land, Sea and Air surrounding the Gulf.

A Book from Planet Silicon Valley
Revisado: 06-01-18
I really tried to like this book, but Tim Draper's life story is from another time, place and maybe even planet. Growing up as he did in an incredibly privileged and globally established family his experiences and many of the recommendations in this book just don't translate to most of us who are trying to keep the lights on while trying to start their own business. Just like VC's love to give advice, mine is to re-position this book as memoir about Tim Draper's super life.
