Historia
Fleeing a disastrous love affair, university librarian Amy Webber moves in with her aunt in a quiet mountain town in Virginia. She quickly busies herself with managing a charming public library that requires all her attention with its severe lack of funds and overabundance of eccentric patrons. The last thing she needs is a new, available neighbor whose charm lures her into trouble. Dancer-turned-teacher and choreographer Richard Muir inherited the farmhouse next door from his great-uncle, Paul Dassin. But town folklore claims the house's original owner was poisoned by his wife.

1st of series. hope they get better
Revisado: 04-09-22
i've read or heard thru Audible many cozy reads. this one just seemed to go on and on and on! at times the character voices got co-mingled and was hard to discern. i will give writer and narrator a chance for future books to be better since i purchased - in advance - the entire series. i wouldn't dissaude others from reading this book as others may draw a different opinion

interesting to hear of her childhood

while the story was a slow-go because of mostly the redundancy of her relationship with her Mother, it started to puck up better in later chapters

one of the best series I've ever enjoyed
Revisado: 01-17-21
this is a series of stories centered around a bed and breakfast resort. the "town's" theme to include animals is a cute idea and adds to the cuteness of the story lines. Krista Davis writes her character's with deprh to where you'd believe they are true people. Can not wait to read next story in line.

a story rich into historical information
Revisado: 12-29-20
i started this series with the books and audible as well. the narrator of the Defending the Dead was FANTASTIC. each books narrators bring the story to life. the author writes real people; characters that jump off the page. i am enjoying the series. i just had 1 wish -- that due to the ability to read each book as a stand alone story. it forces the author to repeat some facts that I knew from reading the series. it just takes up pages or paragraphs I wish I could skip, but it does explain things to people who are not reading the series in order.
