Historia
Effective altruism is built upon the simple, but profound, idea that living a fully ethical life involves doing the "most good you can do". Such a life requires an unsentimental view of charitable giving: To be a worthy recipient of our support, an organization must be able to demonstrate that it will do more good with our money or our time than other options open to us. Singer introduces us to an array of remarkable people who are restructuring their lives in accordance with these ideas and shows how living altruistically often leads to greater personal fulfillment.

Riveting
Revisado: 04-19-17
I listened to the Circle in preparation for the Emma Watson movie. It's timely tale to consider concerning how technology, omnipresent cameras, and social media would aid a totalitarian society. It's also important to think about how such a society, were it implimented soon, would come under the auspices of compassion and faux voluntarism. The story's main flaw was its misunderstanding of how people would react: the Circle faced no meaningful resistance to any of its from the public, it seems. Also, Mae at one point had 2 billion watchers. I believe that's more than the World Cup, hence unrealistic. Pretty excellent story overall, although the writing was too contemporary.
