Historia
“Leave it as it is,” Theodore Roosevelt announced while viewing the Grand Canyon for the first time. “The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.” Roosevelt’s pronouncement signaled the beginning of an environmental fight that still wages today. To reconnect with the American wilderness and with the president who courageously protected it, acclaimed nature writer and New York Times best-selling author David Gessner embarks on a great American road trip guided by Roosevelt’s crusading environmental legacy.

Boring
Revisado: 02-25-21
The author fails to make the story engaging. Roosevelt is an interesting figure, and public lands are an emotional and important topic. Somehow the book makes them dull.

Interesting characters
Revisado: 05-25-16
If you could sum up The Widow in three words, what would they be?
A portrait of a woman dominated by her husband, as seen through her own eyes, a detective, a reporter, and briefly her husband's eyes. The story begins, as many do, with a scene that then flashes back, and the author works up to that scene again shortly before the end of the book. So there's a bit of mystery as well.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Finding out what happened kept me going, and the shifting point of view kept the story fresh.

Historia
When I left for college, I put 1,000 miles between my future and my past. I'd made a choice - I was going to cross back to the other side, to live with the living. I just didn't know how. And then I met Nate Preeter. An All-American baseball player, Nate wasn't supposed to notice a ghost-of-a-girl like me. But he did. He shouldn't want to know my name. But he did. And when he learned my secret and saw the scars it left behind, he was supposed to run. But he didn't.

Any additional comments?
This book might be interesting to a 12 year old girl, but not to an adult. The story is trite, and the characters are flat.
