Extremely Inspiring

Wow. I knew Arnold is a ridiculously high-achieving person, but I was shocked to learn so much more about what he's accomplished and how he went about it. I love biographies like this because they inspire me to improve myself and get more out of life - this one has really affected me in this way. Interesting, entertaining, inspiring - get this book!

What made the experience of listening to New Grub Street the most enjoyable?

For some reason, I get way more into books in audio format than I ever did reading - particular books that I was assigned to read when I was in school. I have a whole new appreciation for this book now. Keep in mind it is 125 or so years old, but that just makes it more interesting to me.

What did you like best about this story?

The world was pretty different then, and this book gives you a window into that different world.

Which character – as performed by Nigel Patterson – was your favorite?

My favorite character is Jasper - he is so Alarmingly Modern!

Interesting Insight into Plato's Mind

Where does The Apology of Socrates: Adapted for the Contemporary Reader rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

For this type of thing, this ranks very highly for me. It's a quick listen at under an hour and I actually sped it up a bit too. It's cool to get a snapshot of someone's mindset so long ago directly from them, and the nuggets of wisdom within make this a highly recommended book.

What about Michael T Downey’s performance did you like?

The narrator is very clear - which is why I could speed it up and it was fine.

"Solid Fiction with Very Good Narration"

Where does Secret of the Lost King rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I very much liked the characters and the plot was engaging. I will likely read more of this series if they're available. The writer uses interesting language choices as well - very vivid descriptions. The narrator is very good - personal preference but I liked listening to this at 0.85x speed though.

Not the Full Kama Sutra, but Interesting Anyway

What made the experience of listening to Kama Sutra, Kama Sutra Love Making At It's Finest! (techniques and positions) the most enjoyable?

I thought the narrator was very good. I haven't read the full Kama Sutra so I don't know if there were some things left out that should have been included, but it was all new to me and overall I thought it was good.

Any additional comments?

If you're looking for an overview of the Kama Sutra and some background info on it with some specific positions highlighted without having to read/listen to the whole thing, this is a good bet.

Should be Required Reading for Americans

Would you listen to Common Sense again? Why?

This is the kind of thing that you are forced to read in high school, but would actually find it interesting when you're older and you have some perspective. I really enjoyed this and was engaged throughout.

What does C.J. McAllister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The writing style is hundreds of years old, so it's understandably "stuffy". The narrator helps bridge that gap and keeps you engaged.

A Classic Brought to Life

What made the experience of listening to The Prince the most enjoyable?

I've read this on paper format, but it's been years. The narrator really brought this amazing piece of work to life and I feel I enjoyed it more than before.

What did you like best about this story?

This book is not only interesting, but very historically significant - so it's interesting from two angles.

I believe there are a number of narrations on this book out there - but this is really an excellent one and the best choice in my opinion.

This was perfect timing for me. I'm just about to leave a comfortable, lucrative but unfulfilling career to be an entrepreneur, and this was very inspiring and helpful.

Wonderful Story & Compelling Book

I listened to this book together with my girlfriend on car trips. Neither of us thought a story about a crew team would interest us, but we tried it based on a personal recommendation and strong reviews. We're both very glad we tried it - we listened raptly to the last hour in silence and reverence. Highly recommended, particularly if you're an American finding it increasingly difficult to feel patriotic due to the treasonous clown car at the helm (for now).
