Historia
People come to Los Angeles to chase their dreams. Sometimes they find themselves cast into a nightmare. And sometimes, the most ardent dreamers turn out to be the most vicious monsters. The body of an aspiring actress is found dumped near a hospital emergency room. She’s been drugged and murdered and the motive for the callous crime remains maddeningly out of reach. Until, a prime suspect materializes. Another Hollywood hopeful. Only to be shot dead by a sniper using a weapon that turns out to have been catalogued in a previous murder. And another, before that.

Revisado: 02-07-25
I've been reading the Alex Delaware series for years. Have grown to love the Alex Milo chemistry and the way they work together to solve crimes. There are few series I've read where I look forward to what the characters will say to each other and how they'll work together, but this is definitely one of them. You can't go wrong with a jonathan kellerman book. I highly recommend every book in this series!

Historia
Renée Ballard and the LAPD’s Open-Unsolved Unit get a hot shot DNA connection between a recently arrested man and a serial rapist and murderer who went quiet twenty years ago. The arrested man is only twenty-four, so the genetic link must be familial: His father was the Pillowcase Rapist, responsible for a five-year reign of terror in the city of angels. But when Ballard and her team move in on their suspect, they encounter a baffling web of secrets and legal hurdles. Meanwhile, Ballard’s badge, gun, and ID are stolen.

Great story!
Revisado: 10-25-24
I'm a big fan of Michael Connelly and the Bosch series. Love Ballard and the back and forth between old-school Bosch and a new main character who is willing to learn from (and fracture the occasional rule with) Bosch. This story carried on that very cool relationship and also finds Maddie Bosch following admirably in her Dad's footsteps when she solves a historically famous crime. Great narration by all involved!

Historia
Raised in Natchez, Mississippi, Penn Cage learned all he knows from his father, Dr. Tom Cage. But now Tom has been accused of murdering the Black nurse with whom he worked in the 1960s and Penn is determined to exonerate him. The quest for answers leads down a trail of corruption and brutality that places Penn’s family squarely in the crosshairs of the Double Eagles, a vicious offshoot of the KKK controlled by some of the state’s most powerful men. Penn ultimately must acknowledge that secrets from his father’s past have put the Cage family in great jeopardy.

Revisado: 11-10-23
I've been a fan of Michael Connelly and the Harry Bosch universe for a long time now, and this latest story just continues a fantastic series! Titus Welliver really knocked it out of the park, capturing Harry's state of health. I felt how he was struggling to remain on top of his game throughout the story. Peter Giles was great as Mickey and Christine Lakin was her usual great self for the brief amount she was in the book. The story itself was full of interesting twists and turns and, as usual, tightly written! Well worth the listen.

Historia
Over the years investigator Joe Gunther has battled drug pushers and corporate swindlers, grappled with environmental conspirators, and foiled gangs and home invaders. But while usually successful, Gunther hasn't always come out on top. Thirty years earlier, store owner Klaus Oberfeldt was robbed and beaten senseless. Gunther, distracted by his wife's losing struggle with cancer in the same hospital where Klaus was slipping from life, did something that would plague him for the rest of his career: He let the case go cold, burying it in the past along with his private sorrows.

Love this series!
Revisado: 04-21-22
I have to be honest, I found the series on Audible and was just looking for audio books that were included with my membership. I was so lucky to find the series, lt is well written and thoroughly entertaining for those who like police procedurals. It is not my favorite genre, as I am into the supernatural and also write books that are Supernatural, but a good story is a good story and Joe Gunther is a great character. The supporting characters, especially Willie conkle( I'm not sure if I'm spelling that correctly as I've only listened to the books) are not just mere side characters but are complex and interesting. I highly recommend this series!

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Deep, dark, and Fantastic!
Revisado: 03-03-22
It's been a long time since a book has totally engrossed me. This book did. The characters, especially Theo and Alicia, are well written and believable as well as the surrounding cast. Alex Michaelides is masterful in using the psychology that lies underneath all of them to lead you toward one possible conclusion after the next. But never really where you think you're going.
Both narrator's were fantastic!
Well done by all!

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Great Story! Listened to the whole book in 2 days!
Revisado: 01-07-22
This is a multi-layered story about the choices we make, their consequences, and living your life based on what you thought were regrets.
Nora, the main character, finds herself in the Midnight Library through actions she has taken. In the Midnight Library you get to choose from the many books on the shelf in an effort to find the perfect life among the infinite choices.
the way Matt Haig brings you through this story is creatively done and underlines the evolution of Nora's soul.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the narrator's performance.

Good all around
Revisado: 09-13-21
I enjoyed this book a lot, and though the story is dated it held my interest for the entire book. I would have to say my favorite part about this book was the narrator's performance. He did an excellent job using different voices for different characters making it easy to distinguish who was talking at any given time. Story was good, not great like most Michael Crichton books.
