not what I expected
Revisado: 05-06-25
i read a decent amount of Freida McFadden books, so I was excited to see this one on sale. I was not expecting it to be more of a love story than anything else, at least in my opinion. not many characters, so the plot was unfortunate predictable, even with the twist thrown in.
to me, this was a story of a woman's perseverance and finding love at the end of it. not the worst story I've ever read, but nothing special that I'll recommend or read again unless someone ask me for a semi decent love story.

it was okay at best
Revisado: 04-25-25
it wasn't a bad listen, I enjoyed the storyline for the most part. I did not like the narrating of Amber, it made everything seem like whining. the plot was given away halfway through if you were paying attention to the details. it felt like all the "excitement" was only two chapters long at the end. lots of prospective missing from main characters which would have made the story much better in my opinion. it was easy to turn off and I wasn't dying to turn it back on like I typically am with a psychological thriller. i felt like I kept waiting for it to get better. wasn't for me, but maybe you'll love it!

Historia
I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Great listen

I loved the book, the story was fantastic. I was able to figure out the plot beforehand, unfortunately, but it was still a great listen with plenty of twist.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Revisado: 03-20-25
this book kept giving twist and turns i wasn't expecting, I was able to visualize each character. I finished it in a few short sittings. I found myself listening none stop around a quarter of the way through. Great read!
