Disingenuous and Self Serving

Pinkett had an opportunity to come clean and pull back the curtain to the traveling carnival aka the marriage of Will and Jada. By doing so, she may have been accepted by readers as a relatable fellow human, out in the world trying to make sense of relationships, just like the rest of us. But instead, she presents as a self-appointed, enlightened, anointed life coach....but until recently exposed, ber life has been one lie after another. ....and there's no reason to believe she's done. Now she's playing both the victim and martyr card. Give me a break. if you're looking for book club discussion fodder, everyone will have plenty to talk about.

It infuriated me to listen to another glorified tale of street predator until I realized this idiot has just set himself up for a lifetime bid. Good for him. Can't wait to watch the upcoming trial that will put him and probably a few other criminals away with him. With all of the gangsters he ticked off, he'll have a less-than-enchanted time in prison.

This was seven hours of my life I will never get back. The ending was silly and anticlimactic. At least with the tv version, you can use the DVR fast forwarding features to watch it in a third of the time. Do yourself a favor and download an Agatha Christie selection.

Wanted to love it, narration was irritating

Would you try another book from Nora Roberts and/or Julia Whelan?
The story was engaging enough to keep me hanging on until the end, but listening to the narrator toggle her high pitched feminine voice between the girly lead character and macho love interest was just painful to endure. Her forced tenor southern drawl made me imagine the main character having an affair with Ellen DeGeneres, not some hunky cowboy. Her attempts at the voices of Russian mafia members weren't any more convincing.
